As announced this Monday, November 9, 2020, Major General Debold Sinas is the new Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief which will be effective on Tuesday, November 10. Many celebrites shared their sentiments on the appointment of the controversial general.
Sinas previously had a mañanita that breached quarantine protocols during the lockdown period in the Philippines. However, not only did he get away with the violation, he also got a promotion.
Actress Agot Isidro threw shade on the move of President Rodrigo Duterte to appoint Sinas as the new PNP chief. She wrote, “Indeed, the best and the brightest!”

Even YouTuber Lyqa Maravilla voiced out her disgust about the news. She said in her tweet, “When rule breakers get rewarded, ano ang gusto ninyong ituro namin sa mga bata? The law is the law pa more,” referring to how other ordinary ECQ violators were punished unlike those who are in a position like Sinas.

Even singer Jose Villanueva III who is populary known as Quest, disagreed with the promotion of the general. Sinas, who according to the PNP, is still under investigation for violating strict prohibition of conducting mass gatherings by celebrating his birthday. He is about to face criminal charges regarding said incident supposedly.
