“The thought did cross my mind.”
That’s what Luis Manzano said he thought when ABS-CBN was not given a franchise renewal resulting in thousands of employees and celebrities losing their job.
Due to ABS-CBN’s shutdown, many personalities transferred to other networks just to keep afloat. And just like them, the Kapamilya host also pondered whether he’ll transfer to other networks or not because according to him, there are things he wants to do and bills he has to pay. He stayed with ABS-CBN who is now currently in the A2Z channel.
For him, there is nothing wrong with transferring to other networks. Luis said that he understands the struggle of staying with a network that is the target of the Philippine government.
“…ang masasabi ko sa mga lumipat, by all means, go do what you need to do,” Luis said.
The I Can See Your Voice host also added that he supports those who transferred to other networks just to have a job.
“…if it means na kailangan mong lumipat ng istasyon, go. I will be more than happy for you, wala akong hinanakit, I will support you,” he added.
“…kasi ako personally di uso sakin ang kapamilya, kapuso, kapatid. Well nagkataon na kapamilya ako, I still have the highest respect para sa mga kapatid at sa mga kapuso,” the host said.
Since the Kapamilya network is currently on Zoe Channel, Luis felt that the move affected the general viewership of ABS-CBN as a whole.
“…syempre sanay din kaming lahat na Kapamilya na napapanuod kami ng buong Pilipinas. Sanay kami na napapanuod kami ng buong mundo,” he said.
However, he is thankful that the network has returned even if it is way different from what they were used to.
“…nung nag-A2Z eh mas natuwa din ako dahil syempre kahit papaano hindi man ganun kalaki pa ang reach ng A2Z, kumbaga baby steps ang ginagawa ng Kapamilya para dahan manumbalik yung mga nakamiss sa Kapamilya,” the host said.
With his network being shut down by the government which is still attempting to terminate the giant network once and for all, the Kapamilya host said that the administration is just finding ways to close ABS-CBN.
“Wala tayong magagawa dyan hinahanapan na lang ng butas, ika nga,” Luis said.
