In an interview for their single Simula, newlyweds KZ Tandingan and TJ Monterde recounted their private wedding and shared their wedding plans amidst the pandemic.
Firstly, TJ shared the couple’s wedding plans before the start of the pandemic.
“Yung wedding originally plinano namin sya sa Baguio. Yung original plan namin August 28, it’s the same date na plano talaga,” said TJ.
When the pandemic hit, the couple even thought of postponing the wedding.
“Nung March biglang pang! nagbago lahat nang mundo natin. Tayo lahat, lockdown. So nagdecide kami nung time na yun na wala na, ano na to postpone na to. Let’s move it next year. Kasi ang hirap eh,” TJ added.
Then, TJ continued that they decided to go through with the wedding when they realized all of the uncertainty due to the pandemic.
“So na realize namin there and then na tomorrow is not promised. Di natin alam kung anong mangyayari sa bukas kaya dun din kami nakapagdecide na sige ituloy na natin yung kasal,” said TJ.
Then KZ recounted how challenging the wedding planning was due to the changing guidelines.
“How was the planning? Medyo challenging po kasi di ba yung restrictions guidelines ng quarantine, ng lockdown, parang every 15th, and 30th of the month nagbabago,” said KZ.
She then added that how thankful she was for the wedding coordinator and the suppliers for pulling through the venue and the adjustments during their wedding.
“So were just very thankful naman to our organizer, wedding coordinators ang La Belle Fete. Sila miss Ikoy. na tinulungan kami makahanap ng venue, and yung venue nga ay sa The Farm sa Batangas.”
“So we’re very thankful na we found suppliers na very understanding. Na very flexible pagdating dun sa mga changes,” said KZ
KZ also thanked the guest who got through all the testings and went to the wedding despite the pandemic.
“We’re thankful na yung guests are people who really wanted to be there kasi syempre when we told them it was gonna be in Batangas, Alam nila na they had to travel. Sinabihan namin sila na we were gonna go through a series of testings, go pa rin sila ganyan,” KZ added.
She then added that it was tough planning their wedding but it was all worth it.
“It was pretty tough na ang daming mga detalye na kailangan ayusin lalo na in terms of safety but nung dumating na yung araw na yun, yung mismong wedding sobrang sulit lahat yun. Sobrang worth it ng mga pagod,” said KZ.
KZ and TJ officially tied the knot on August 28, 2020, in the middle of the pandemic but kept it a secret. Then, the couple revaled their nuptials back in October of 2020.
