Kapamilya star Kim Chiu responded to a netizen who claimed that the actress became richer just because of her viral song “Bawal Lumabas.”
In her latest YouTube vlog on November 21, the actress decided to celebrate her milestone of reaching 2 million subscribers by reading mean comments about her.
One netizen wrote about her previous confusing statement about the “classroom” analogy which eventually led to Kim’s release of the viral song “Bawal Lumabas.”
The netizen mocked Kim’s analogy and said that the actress just seized the opportunity to earn money from the song.
“Kay gulo-gulo ng isip ni kim. Na alog siguro. Ok na sana ‘yung thought, sa analogy siya napuruhan. Wrong [segue]. Mali ang terminology na nagamit nya. Hahahaha. K lang ‘yan kim yumaman ka na naman ulit,” the basher said.
Kim became a little emotional as she explained that the earnings she had from the song were donated to the people. She said that she did not get rich with money, but with good deeds.
“Dinonate ko naman ‘yung mga kinita ko roon. So ‘di man ako yumaman as yumaman sa bulsa. Yumaman naman ako sa good deed. So, that’s more important,” she said.
She explained that the comment made her a little hurt but she noted that the lessons she gained from her previous statement are more important to her.
“Naiiyak ako. Naging 2 million ang yaman ko dahil dumami kayo. Basta masaya ako. I’m very grateful and blessed to share kung anuman ‘yung nakuha ko sa pagkakamali na ‘yon,” Kim said.
On the other hand, Kim also responded to a netizen who said that Kim doesn’t deserve to be featured with her song “Bawal Lumabas.” The netizen mentioned that there are other talented artists that deserve the fame and attention other than Kim.
“Andaming pwedeng i-feature na underrated na singers/band bakit eto pa,” the netizen said.
Kim replied saying, “Grabe naman. Maganda naman ‘yung kanta ah. Marami ngang nakinig eh.”
She simply said that people have a choice whether they want to listen to her song or not. She also said that even though the chorus of the song seemed funny, the message of the song as a whole is inspiring.
“Ginawa na siyang kanta eh, so might as well kumanta na rin ako diba. Nasasainyo lang naman ‘yun kung gusto niyong pakinggan o hindi. Kase nagandahan ako eh,” she said.
“Gusto ko rin ‘yung lyrics dahil [tungkol] sa pag come out stronger, inspirational ‘yung kanta kahit na nakakatawa man ‘yung chorus. At least maraming nakinig, marami man ang nag dislike, mas marami naman ‘yung nag like,” she added.
“That’s more important. Dun tayo tumingin sa mas maliwanag and mas positive dahil kung ano ‘yung nakikita mo, ‘yun ‘yung nagiging vibe mo,” she further added.
