Kapamilya reporter Jervis Manahan tweeted, “We have updates,” with a photo of ANC 24/7 reporters in Legaspi City; Catanuan, Quezon; Batangas City; and Manila.
It was an apparent response to a tweet of GMA News reporter Tina Panganiban Perez who replied to Manila Bulletin Columnist Goyo Y. Larrazabal’s tweet.

In the original tweet, Goyo said that a lot of people are in the dark during the super typhoon Rolly.
He also wrote that ABS-CBN News could have helped in disseminating information about the incoming storm but instead it was unavailable due to their denied franchise.
Tina then replied, ‘We have updates,’ referring to the GMA 7 News Department.
At the time, Rolly slammed Albay, GMA 7 was airing a dubbed version of the movie Hotel Transylvania while GMA News TV aired reruns of the animated series Pokemon.

Reporter MJ Felipe also added his opinion on the tweet. He wrote that instead of updates, it should have been a dedicated special coverage citing the loss of ABS-CBN’s Regional Network Group.
#IbalikAngABSCBN

Other netizens said that ANC and Teleradyo did a full coverage on Rolly, while GMA News TV aired a dubbed Thai TV show.
