Actor Jake Cuenca showed no concern for the hate against him saying that he has no ‘utang na loob’ (debt of gratitude) to ABS-CBN after starring in a new series on TV5 titled Ate Ng Ate Ko.
The actor has been doing shows under the Kapamilya network for several years before he accepted his recent project with TV5. He starred in various Kapamilya series such as The Haunted (2019), Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin (2017), and Pasión De Amor (2015-16) which is why netizens claimed that the actor has no gratitude for ABS-CBN.
However, Jake is not the only Kapamilya with a show on the Kapatid network as some Kapamilya artists have new shows under Brightlight Productions.
Jake ignored the mean comments regarding his loyalty to ABS-CBN and noted that his new project with TV5 is a good opportunity for him to work with artists from other networks.
Jake also shared that aside from liking the project offered to him, he also accepted it because he knew that he will be working with Kapuso actress Kris Bernal.
His latest show Ate Ng Ate Ko is produced by APT Entertainment which premiered on Monday, November 23. The cast includes Kris Bernal, Isabelle de Leon, Tonton Gutierrez, Joem Bascon, Kim Last, and Phil Noble.
Even though Jake has a new show with TV5, he is still under the management of ABS-CBN’s talent company, Star Magic.
The 32-year-old actor previously promoted his new series on his Instagram account where he replied to some of the comments of the netizens regarding the show.
“Can’t watch, no TV5 here abroad,” the netizen wrote.
The actor responded saying, “YouTube” along with a smiling emoji.
Another netizen mentioned that he didn’t care about the new TV5 series and only cares about ABS-CBN.
“[Wala akong pake] Basta ABS-CBN lang kami,” the netizen said.
Jake replied by saying that the netizen should join in the next rally or protest which pertains to the previous rally for the ABS-CBN franchise.
“dope that’s good. next rally or protest come with alright?” the actor invited.
The netizen gladly agreed and Jake responded saying, “see you there.”
Jake Cuenca has done several mainstream films throughout his career such as In the Name of Love (2011), My Neighbor’s Wife (2011), Tuhog (2013), Status: It’s Complicated (2013), and When the Love Is Gone (2013). He was recently a part of the digital horror series for the Halloween Sitsit where he worked alongside Dido Dela Paz for their story titled “Scorpio”.
