Julia Barretto seemed to have responded to the controversial name drop of actress-host Kim Chiu when she posted a photo on her Instagram account with the caption: “Out here minding my own business.”
Her post came after Kim accidentally mentioned Julia’s name during a segment on ‘It’s Showtime‘ called ‘Mas Testing’ on October 28. Kim was asked to like 5 Instagram posts of her ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson as her punishment in the segment.
“Eto ang huling consequence mo. Sa iyong Instagram account, mag like ng limang posts, specifically yung post mula 20 hanggang 24,” Vice Ganda said.
Before she did her punishment, Kim made a disclaimer to her current boyfriend Xian Lim saying that what she will do was just a part of a game.
“Hi, Xi! Nanonood ka ngayon. This is just a game! Xi, alam mo naman ang totoo,” said Kim.
While going through the photos, Kim accidentally mentioned Julia’s name while liking a trailer of ‘A Soldier’s Heart’, which earned shocked reactions from her co-hosts Vice Ganda, Jhong Hilario Vhong Navarro, and the staff of the noontime show.
“Hay nako. Tapos pag bukas mo dito, nandito si Julia Barretto,” said Kim.
Kim’s co-hosts in the live show were caught off guard especially Vice and Vhong who didn’t expect her candid statement while scrolling through the IG photos.
Kim immediately took back what she said and added saying, “Ay bawal ba?”
She also acknowledged her slip-up and tried to ease the awkward atmosphere in the show by correcting her previous statement saying, “Ay si Bea Alonzo pala!”
It can be recalled that Gerald was previously in a relationship with Bea Alonzo. Their relationship became controversial when Bea revealed that she had no proper closure with Gerald and the actor just started not talking to her. Around the time of the couple’s problem with their relationship, Gerald was being linked to Julia when the two were seen together a couple of times.
However, both Gerald and Julia refused to directly answer what the real score between them is.
On Friday, October 29, Julia posted on her Instagram account of which the netizens claimed that her caption was her answer to Kim Chiu.
“Out here minding my own business,” she wrote.
However, Julia seemed to have edited her caption to simply an emoji of a heart. She has also set her post to limited comments only.
Julia is known to be outspoken with her opinion on things on social media. She is firm with her beliefs and advocacies which is one of the many traits that her fans love about her.
During the height of Bea and Gerald’s issues with their relationship, Julia defended herself and addressed the accusation about her being involved in the breakup of the couple.
She dismissed the issue of her being the third party saying, “Secondly, I believe Gerald has already made it clear that a third party was not the cause of their breakup. I would like to disassociate myself from the breakup of Bea and Gerald. Their issues are entirely their own. However, since I was brought into this mess without a choice, this is what I have to say. Your heartbreak should have been a private matter, but you have selfishly turned it into something of national concern.”
She also clarified the issue that she had cheated on her former boyfriend Joshua Garcia with Gerald.
“I was attacked for two issues: 1. I cheated on my boyfriend. 2. I was the cause of another relationship’s breakup. Let’s be clear: Josh and I had broken up four months ago. We have publicly admitted it together and we have cleared that there was no third party involved. From now on, anything I do in my private and love life is not considered as cheating, and is none of anyone’s business,” she explained.
