Typhoon Ulysses has affected thousands, if not millions of Filipinos.
Government officials and agencies are expected to step up and help citizens who have been affected by the calamity.
In a now-deleted Facebook post, DENR Undersecretary Benny Antiporda showed he was more concerned about the dolomite beach rather than people when he posted a photo with MMDA Asec Celine Pialago featuring the controversial Manila Bay fake sand beach.

The photo, with a caption, “DOLOMITE LANG MATATAG with MMDA Asec Celine Pialago” angered netizens as to how insensitive the government officials were.
Twitter user @chickiedreyfus tweeted, “Merong mas matatag… APOG NIYO. Leche.”

Some netizens even pointed out that people are dying and they have the courage to check on the artificial white sand instead.
In a lengthy post, Twitter user @ricci_richy emphasized the effect of the typhoon and was disgusted on how the so-called Undersecretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources was so shameless to think that their projects are more important than the lives of Filipino people.
The netizen tweeted, “People are dying, benny. And you have the audacity to say “DOLOMITE LANG ANG MATATAG”? How dare you insult the thousands of Filipinos who have lost their homes, livelihoods, and worst, their loved ones. You are pure evil! You are disgusting.”

Insensitive. That is the correct term for the officials who had the guts to take a photo of their project instead of helping those who were affected by Ulysses.
@krizz_kalerqui tweeted, “Insensitive pricks! Imbis na tulungan ang mga nasalanta ng bagyo ang dolomite sand ang bibabantayan ng mga hinayupak na tanga!”

The photo which was later on deleted was taken during the landfall of Typhoon Ulysses. Many netizens felt disgusted at how these supposedly public officials are so eager to prove their critics wrong.
They disregarded the fact that many people have lost their properties because of the flood, and some, unfortunately, have lost their lives due to the strength of the typhoon.

Recently, Antiporda irritated netizens as he attacked Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee and even targeted Enchong’s gender. Many netizens called the Undersecretary’s actions unprofessional which should be avoided by a public servant.
The Undersecretary also posted how ‘insensitive’ people are towards the president. Coming from a very ‘sensitive’ public official, his argument does not hold much weight.
Asec. Celine Pialago just released a statement defending the deleted post of Antiporda. In her statement, said that it was only meant to provide an explanation regarding said dolomites.
“‘Yung post po ni Usec. Benny Aniporda ay nangyari nung sabay po kami nag-iikot sa Roxas Boulevard para masiguro po ang kalagayan sa ating mga kalsada. Mas expert po ang DENR na maipaliwanag ang lahat ng patungkol sa dolomite,” said Pialago in her Facebook live.
