Only several months after the release of their debut EP, “Vol. 1″, RESORT now returns with their sophomore collection, the “Vol. 2” EP. Volume 2 is a culmination of a more matured, melancholic sound while maintaining their signature dancey essence, in comparison to its bright and easy-going predecessor, Volume 1.
In this 6-track EP, the group tackles the reality and orthodoxy of falling in and out of relationships. “The kind of love we’ve grown to understand on the internet today is vastly different from the experience on a real time encounter.” says Sek Hao, frontman of the group.
The lead single, “Now I Remember” showcases the capabilities of the band as they explore a melodic dance-pop approach. As part of the release, they are releasing a music video for their well-acclaimed first single of the new lineup, “Not Warm Enough” as well as a video to accompany the acoustic version as a tribute to their fans.
After only little over a year as a band, RESORT has amassed almost 1,000,000 online streams from various streaming platforms, primarily Spotify. RESORT has also been featured on many Spotify playlists, including being the feature cover art for Spotify’s Made In Malaysia. Part of the success also comes from collaborating with indie-pop artist, SHN to write “The Idea of Us”, the official soundtrack for TheMingThing’s Christmas short film in 2019, in partnership with Jo Malone London & Estée Lauder.
Influenced by the likes of The 1975, Lauv and HONNE, RESORT isn’t just a household name but a unique sound that is familiar to many listeners.
