Despite Losing its Franchise, ABS-CBN Continues to Provide Information, Receives Praise from Netizens

After losing its franchise, ABS-CBN continued its service to the Filipino people. During the onslaught of Typhoon Rolly in the Philippines, the media giant did not fail to provide concrete information about said typhoon.

Because of this, netizens were sure to give credit where is due. On Twitter, users have aired their gratitude to the media company for their unwavering service.

User @DanSantos8 wrote:

Yung biggest network na tinanggalan niyo ng prangkisa, ipinakita nila sa panahon na kailangan sila, full force pa rin kahit madaming nabawas sa resources. Di nila pinaramdam na malaki ang nawala sa kanila!

In the service of the Filipino!

❤️💚💙

Even those working in the Regional Network Group continued their jobs as if they were still employed.

User @TheaAlberto wrote this thanking the reporters despite losing their jobs in the Regional Network Group of ABS-CBN:

May prangkisa o wala, tuloy ang special coverage ng ABS-CBN News. Yung mga taong nawalan ng trabaho sa Regional Network Group, nagfafile pa rin ng storya. Yan ang public service. ❤️ hats off din sa lahat ng media na nakaduty! 👏❤️

Some netizens even compared ABS-CBN to other media companies who despite having a license to operate, failed to provide relevant information about typhoon Rolly.

User @pattiechoo tweeted the so-called updates of GMA News TV on the strongest typhoon of 2020:

According to netizens, instead of showing relevant news about Rolly, a dubbed movie was shown on GMA News TV.

Twitter user @dgcrx tweeted:

Some netizens even looked for ABS-CBN’s special coverage since they know that in far-flung areas in the Philippines, only ABS-CBN was able to reach those areas and the current frequency that they’re using which is the A2Z does not have the capabilities to reach wider areas.

Twitter user @CARLODUGAN provided the reason why ABS-CBN was the best choice for residents in remote areas:

Kahit sabihin mong hindi naman kailangan ang ABS-CBN News kung meron namang GMA, TV5, PTV4, atbp., sadyang may mga remote areas talaga na tanging ABSCBN lang ang nasasagap ng antenna. #IbalikAngABSCBN #ABSCBN #RollyPh

ABS-CBN lost its franchise last July 10, forcing the media company to retrench its employees. Some artists and reporters may have transferred to different networks but the remaining loyal employees of the said company continues to provide the Filipino people the much-needed information.

Mike Navallo, an employee of ABS CBN wrote:

ABS-CBN News.
Di kailangang hanapin.
Laging magpaparamdam.

Kahit saan. Kahit kailan. Maasahan. https://t.co/9I1tfHioqz

Jeck Batallones during the special coverage of Typhoon Rolly shared this photo on Twitter:
