The local make-up brand Colourette Cosmetics’ CEO Nina Ellaine Dizon is getting bashed by President Rodrigo Duterte’s supporters.
This started when Dizon posted a tweet on November 12, during the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses. She was looking for the President and wanting him to be accountable for the sake of Filipinos.
She tweeted, “Will we always be left to fend for ourselves? Can someone please take accountability for the Filipino people?!!!! #NasaanAngPangulo”

The courageous CEO then started receiving hate from supporters of Duterte. And things got pretty heated. She had an altercation with a Twitter user named TIO MORENO. The account has since been suspended thanks to a mass report done by Dizon’s fans.

Despite receiving hate from those who defend the president, she became more vocal than ever. She used her voice because it is her right to point out incompetence and oppression coming from the government.
She also apologized to those who defended her.
In her tweet, she said, “I am a FILIPINO first. You can’t expect me to stay silent when I see the oppression right before my very eyes. I’m already apologizing to the people who will be affected by all the bashing. Sorry if nadadamay kayo dahil pinagtatanggol niyo ako.”

Those who support Duterte threatened to sabotage Dizon’s business. They now use the hashtag #boycottCOLOURETTEcosmetic. Using ad-hominem to hurt Dizon personally, they’re also trying to have her business canceled.

However, she was not intimidated by them. This fierce lady even posted that she’ll cancel the orders of those who support Duterte.
In her tweet, she said, “Para sa lahat ng mga die hard DDS na nagorder nung 11.11, paki comment ang order number. Ako na mismo magcacancel ng order niyo.”

Because of her bravery, some known personalities on Twitter applauded her for standing up and being the voice of the oppressed.
Columnist Francis Baraan IV supported Dizon and encouraged her to speak her mind.
In his tweet, he said, “Nina, don’t mind the trolls/bashers. They have a political agenda & are trying to push a biased narrative to discredit you. You have every right to speak your mind. That right in enshrined in the Constitution. Thank you for empowering others, & for using your platform for good.”
