Charo Santos-Concio revealed that she started at the bottom before she became a successful top executive. She mentioned that she was a person working behind the camera before she hit success during her virtual interview with Angelica Panganiban.
On November 20, Charo appeared on Angelica’s YouTube show Ask Angelica where she was featured as a ‘Woman on Top.’ She shared her thoughts and opinions about achieving one’s dream and gave pieces of advice to people as well.
When Charo was asked if she always needs to be perfect as someone who people look up to as a role model, she revealed that people shouldn’t expect her to be so because she is just a person who also started at the bottom.
“Hindi naman. Nagsimula naman ako bilang estudyante. Nagsimula ako bilang isang production assistant sa show ni Dolphy na “John and Marsha,” she said
The Maalaala Mo Kaya host was an award-winning dramatic actress earlier in her career where she won Best Actress for the film “Itim” at the 1978 Asian Film Festival. She was also critically acclaimed for her performance in several Filipino films.
However, she revealed that she worked behind the camera as a production assistant before she ventured into acting. She said that she was able to realize her love for production work after 5 years of acting.
“I may be the producer, but I work as a team player,” she added.
As the host of MMK which is the longest-running television drama anthology in Asia, Charo mentioned that the letters that she read throughout her show gave her a new perspective on life. She said that each person has their own unique story to tell that is worth sharing.
Charo also gave advice to some of the viewers who joined them through a video call. She gave advice on women regarding depression, struggles with their careers, and with their discoveries with their relationships and life.
At the end of the interview, Charo left an inspiring message for young women to learn from their mistakes as they go on with their life.
“Marami pang pagkakadapa ang daraanan bago natin makilala ang sarili natin,” she said.
