In a recent fiasco, Major General Debold Sinas has been appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as the new PNP chief. His designation became a source of ridicule and criticism from celebrities.
Yesterday, November 9, Sinas led a 4-minute exercise routine at Camp Bagong Diwa. The music? The theme song of the anime Voltes V.
Because of this video, celebrities mocked the supposedly daily fitness regime of the NCRPO.
Actress Chai Fonacier made fun of the video released by the NCRPO tweeting, “Monty Python Comedy Gold” referring to a British surreal comedy troupe who created the sketch comedy television show Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

Even the length of the exercise routine did not escape the keen eyes of some celebrities who saw the 4-min video.

Comedian Carmela Brosas a.k.a. K. Brosas even joked about how she was not able to finish the rather short exercise video.

Actress Agot Isidro even suggested that they do a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) rather than just sitting on a chair doing some simple exercises.

Even comedian Macoy Dubs joined other celebrities in roasting the exercise routine. He questioned what kind of fitness program involves sitting in a chair and is just 4 minutes long.

Going on a more serious note, former TV host Jules Guiang criticized the appointment of Sinas and how he will be remembered by the people. He even mentioned Senator Ronald dela Rosa who became a senator because he was the one leading the drug war.

Major General Debold Sinas who was appointed as PNP chief had previously violated the strict quarantine protocol during the lockdown. He celebrated his birthday and amidst the pandemic, conducted a mass gathering. His promotion only emphasizes the double standard rule of the Duterte government and that violators are to be rewarded if they are Duterte allies instead of being punished.
