Several celebrities and social media influencers have taken to Twitter to ask the Filipino people especially the youth to register and vote for the coming 2022 elections.

The celebrities’ reactions came after the recent historic win of former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris as the new President and Vice President of the United States respectively.

Biden and Harris’ victory against Donald Trump gave Filipinos a sign of relief that populist authoritarian leaders can be defeated and hope that the Philippines will experience the same in the next election.

Social media personality and influencer Macoy Dubs in his tweet said that election surveys may not be always correct thus asking everyone to register and vote because every vote counts.

“Survey’s aren’t always accurate. Philippines, may pag-asa pa. Register to vote! 2022 is near.”

Kapamilya host Robi Domingo meanwhile tweeted a vlog with the MayWard showing the process on how to be a registered voter.

“If you need some tips regarding on how to register to vote, we did a vlog on our experience.”

Outspoken Kapuso star Janine Guttierez also shared her sentiments in a tweet saying she can’t wait for the Philippines to vote the current administration and its allies out.

“can’t wait for our turn to vote them out #RegisterToVote”

Aside from showbiz celebrities, journalists also took to Twitter to also share their reactions and hopes for the Philippines to follow suit.

Veteran Kapamilya journalist Abner Mercado thanked the Lord for the opportunity to witness history. And he hopes that the Philippines will duplicate it on May 9, 2022.

“I thank God for I reach this page of history. Kami naman sa May 9, 2022.”

Another Kapamilya veteran broadcaster Tony Velasquez meanwhile asked Filipinos to vote for sanity in 2022. He also congratulated Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for their victory.

“Congratulations President elect @JoeBiden, VP elect @KamalaHarris. Mga Kapamilya, ano na? Pwede ba sa 2022, tayo naman ang bumoto para sa katinuan? May I get an amen?”

Zen Hernandez on the other hand shared the lessons of the US Elections and asked the Filipinos if were are ready for our own in the next elections.

“So many lessons to be learned from the #USElections. First, character and decency must go hand in hand with capability in choosing a leader. Second and most important of all, #everyvotecounts ergo democracy must be protected at all times. Tapos na US, Pilipinas game ka na ba?”
