The pandemic has left most people, even celebrities, without jobs. With the closure of ABS-CBN, some Kapamilyas were left wondering what will happen to them.
And that’s what happened to Juliana Parizcova Segovia who was part of the ABS-CBN’s ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.’
She recalled that at the start of the pandemic, most of the supporting cast of the teleserye were already let go since mass gathering is prohibited. Then came the franchise renewal of the network which the government rejected, resulting in thousands of employees losing their jobs. And as if bad luck isn’t enough, her contract also ended with the media company.
“Pagkaputok ng pandemic andami na agad namin na nawala sa Ang Probinsyano kasi syempre hindi na pwedeng maraming tao,” she said.
Adding, “Actually nagkasabay-sabay eh, bago pa ma-deny yung franchise, nag-end din yung contract ko, tapos pandemic.”
Juliana always asks the Lord in prayer regarding His plans. When the news reached her about the closure of ABS-CBN, she felt crushed and hopeless.
“Nagdadasal ako, Lord ano ba ito, pinahiram mo lang ba? Pinaranas mo lang ba? Pero thank you dahil naranasan ko, dahil sa dami dami ng gusto makapasok sa showbiz isa ako sa mga nakaranas ganyan. Pero sabi ko talaga parang hindi pa eh. Parang meron pa akong mas maibibigay, may mas maigagawa habang nasa showbiz. So pakiramdam ko hindi dun talaga natapos. Pero sobrang lungkot talaga nung time na yun. As in parang ilang araw akong nag-iiyak ganyan, nalulungkot ganun,” she narrated.
Fortunately for her, the noontime show It’s Showtime‘ decided to continue airing their program online. Adding to her good fortune, she was also cast in an upcoming movie of ‘Magandang Buhay‘ hosts Jolina Magdangal, Karla Estrada, and Melai Cantiveros.
In an interview, she narrated that she almost did not get the role.
“Nung sinabi sakin ng mga momshies yung movie, edi okay na, masaya na ako, may trabaho. Hanggang nung pinaalam na nila sa bagong handler ko, kasi di ba nag-Viva na ako, parang nagkaron ng konting… maliit na maliit na problema so hindi na ako natuloy. Nakahanap sila ng kapalit ko,” she said.
At first, Juliana was in total dismay since she wanted the role so badly. She prayed that she would get the role since she idolizes Jolina so much. And to her surprise, she received a call telling her that she’s in again.
“Hanggang sa kinontak ulit ako. Kasi isang character, si Petite, nagkaroon ng emergency so hindi sya natuloy. So ako talaga yung nakuha nila,” Juliana said.
Adding, “Ang galing ni Lord, talagang pag para sa’yo, para sa’yo.”
Juliana is part of an upcoming movie of ‘Magandang Buhay’ hosts Jolina Magdangal, Karla Estrada, and Melai Cantiveros titled ‘Soul Sisters‘ which will be seen on IWantTV.
