Kapuso actor Alden Richards asked people to be cautious in giving donations to online gamers who claimed to be doing charity streams.
According to an article by Abante News Online, Alden warned his followers to be mindful about gamers conducting charity streams because there are some running scams. He made the warning after he received messages from gaming friends about the scheme.
“Ang dami kong nare-receive na message coming from gaming friends na may mga gamers who make a charity stream for a cause and then later use the money for personal use. I mean, I highly discourage that,” said Alden.
Alden then advised those people especially those overseas Filipinos who are always willing to help to be extra careful and make sure that the streamers they are donating to are legit.
“I’d like to take this chance na rin to give a message sa mga taong mababait talaga ‘yung puso na gustong tumulong sa mga nangangailangan, na wala naman dito, especially the ones abroad: Let’s be careful kung sino talaga yung nag i-stream for a cause na meron talagang pinadadalhan yung mga nakukuha nila on that day sa stream.”
He added that while it’s very unfortunate, there were really those who will use the platform to deceive people and get money from those who are kind enough to help people in need.
“Sorry for the word, pero and dami pong manloloko ngayon. Nakakalungkot isipin,” Alden continued
Meanwhile, in another article, Myrtle Sarrosa shared that she gets to constantly play with Alden on online games.
During the virtual presscon for her upcoming online concert Myrtle: Still Love Me, she said that their teams always play against each other. She also confidently claimed that when it comes to Ragnarok she always beats Alden.
“Sa ibang games sya ang magaling, pero sa Ragnarok, confidently ako ang nananalo!
“Everyday kasi ako naglalaro ng Ragnarok. Ako yata ang pinaka-addict na artista sa Ragnarok,” shared Myrtle.
