In the interview for their Prima Donnas fresh episode return, actress Aiko Melendez said that Kendra will be her last kontrabida role.
Aiko noted that she plans to try different roles next year. She also adds that Prima Donnas will be her last take for an antagonist role for the foreseeable future.
“For next year, isa sa plano ko ay mag-iba naman ng role. Kasi actually sabi ko nga, baka ang Prima Donnas might be my last na magko-kontrabida ago,” said Aiko.
Aiko also noted that portraying a Kontrabida role tends to drain actors. Then she added that their audience would want to see a different role for actors.
“Kasi, I wanted to try something different, because medyo nakakadrain din kapag kontrabida ka ng kontrabida. Your audience is going to get tired of also watching you the same old thing di ba?” Aiko added.
She also confirmed that she told her manager about her plan and promises that she will give her best Kontrabida take for Prima Donnas‘ return.
“So if the right offer would come in, why not di ba? Pero, kung ako talaga yung masusunod. Sinabi ko na kay Arnold talaga, my manager, ang Prima Donnas ko ang magiging last ko munang kontrabida. Kaya ibibigay ko na to, todo-todo na to,” said Aiko.
Prima Donnas returns this November 9 after six months of hiatus due to COVID-19. It airs its fresh new episodes weekdays at 3:25 PM, on GMA Network.
