Southern Luzon Command Chief of the Philippine Armed Forces Lieutenant General Antonio Parlade Jr. explained that he never said that actress Angel Locsin was a member of the New People’s Army (NPA).
During a hearing, Lt . Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr., explained that he never claimed that Locsin was a member of the progressive party.
“I never said that Angel Locsin is an NPA but ang statement niya ngayon, sinasabi niya ngayon hindi raw siya NPA. I never said that she is an NPA.”
Senator Panfilo Lacson, who led the hearing, expressed his relief as disclosed that he will be a principal sponsor at the actress’s upcoming wedding.
“Her fiance, si Neil Arce is a family friend and as a matter of fact pag kinasal ‘yun kukunin akong ninong. So, I’m just making a disclosure… mabuti na ‘yung kwentas klaras. I’m just glad that you mentioned that she is not an NPA.”
But the Southern Luzon Commander Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. insisted that the actress’s sister, Ella Colmenares, is a member of the New People’s Army (NPA) while clarifying that he never tagged Angel Locsin as a communist rebel.
“Sana hindi na siya magsinungaling na si Ella Colmenares ay hindi NPA dahil si Ella Colmenares ay talagang NPA,” he said.
He said that he has proof and hopes that Angel will stop lying and covering up for her sister.
“I know that she knows… We came here, we took an oath and we’re not going to say any lies here,” he added.
Recently, the actress admitted that her desire to help in the aftermath of Bagyong Rolly has been greatly affected by being red-tagged by the Lt. Gen. since they need to go out to help others.
“Parang itong parating na bagyo, di mo alam kung lalabas ka ngayon para tumulong. Ewan ko, baka iyong puntahan ko baka ma-red tag kami, baka madamay, Siyempre wala naman kaming ganoong resources kagaya nila para protektahan ang sarili namin.”
Locsin criticized the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) office as to why they need to raise the subject through social media rather than using the proper forum to discuss relevant issues.
“Kung mayroon silang sapat na katibayan, bakit hindi nila kami idemanda? Tutal sigurado sila, may source sila, intent sila, bakit nagkakamali pa po sila sa ebidensya. Pero hindi e, gusto nilang sirain kami sa social media.”
