Kapamilya actor Romnick Sarmenta is no longer a part of the long-running action drama series ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ according to a report by Inquirer.net.
It was claimed that the actor refused to comply with the show’s lock-in taping as he found it to be difficult. As reported by a source from Inquirer Bandera, Sarmenta didn’t want to be locked in for a long period.
“Hirap siya sa mahabang lock-in kasi kasagsagan ng COVID noon,” the source said.
A lock-in taping is the safety measure used by actors/actresses in shooting for their respective shows or films as a way to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sarmento’s character in Coco Martin’s show is a hitman named ‘Juan’ who serves as the right-hand man of Mr. Miller who is the show’s antagonist. He has been with the series for more than a year since he joined the cast back in September 2019.
Many people speculated that he refused to be in a lock-in taping because he is expecting a baby with his girlfriend Barbara Ruaro. The couple just recently announced the news to the public when they posted about it in their respective Instagram accounts.

Sarmenta used the hashtag #alwaystogether in his post and thanked the Lord for the blessings.
“Infinitely Blessed with Your Affirmation. Iba Ka Panginoon, maraming salamat Po 🥰,” he wrote in the caption.

“Thank You, dear God, for the gift of life!” Ruaro wrote.
Barbara Ruaro is also an artist just like Sarmento but she is an indie film actress. She has worked on projects such as Tapes (2020), Past, Present, Perfect (2019), Kung Paano Siya Nawala (2018) and, Abandoned (2019).
Both Sarmento and his girlfriend came from relationships—Ruaro was previously with Marcus Adoro, the lead guitarist of Eraserheads, and Sarmento was married to Harlene Bautista with whom he has 5 children.
Romnick Sarmenta came to prominence after being a part of the TV series Gulong ng Palad when he was five-years-old and played the part of Peping. He won the Best Actor Award from the Asian Television Awards for his performance in the GMA’s telemovie Bakla.
The 48-year-old actor also became a part of several other drama series such as Mulawin (2004), Encantadia (2005), First Time (2010), Mulawin vs Ravena (2017), and La Luna Sangre (2017). He also became part of the iWant series Taiwan That You Love.
