As ABS-CBN’s noontime show It’s Showtime came back last October 10 to free television, a new segment was introduced to the Madlang Pipol called “Hide and Sing.”
But many have noticed that the Hide and Sing idea is similar to the upcoming Viva Television and TV5’s reality singing competition program, Masked Singer Pilipinas.
In an interview of PEP.ph with John Paul Panizale, director of Masked Singer Pilipinas, he admitted that he doesn’t feel threatened by the segment.
“It’s okay po, lahat naman may free will to do what they want.”
The director said that the aim of the said show is to be able to deliver quality content and hopefully to keep up with international brands.
The director also pleaded for people to stop comparing networks with each other at this time of the pandemic, “Like what our artists said sa presscon, sana matapos na yung mga walang kuwenta na battle of networks.
The host of Masked Singer Pilipinas will be Billy Crawford who was once a host on It’s Showtime, a fact that may have spurred issues of plagiarism.
