Local television brimmed with delightful surprises over the past week, and it looks like it will take a few more weeks before the audience can get over them. Among those shockers is an explosive love scene in one of the most followed Pinoy BL series today.
INTERNET GOES WILD OVER ‘MY DAY THE SERIES’
This Miko Gallardo and Iñaki Torres-starrer has been around for several weeks now and has been one of the most viewed Pinoy BL series on YouTube since its debut, but its most recent episode (episode 8) took the whole internet by storm.
The said episode features the impassioned love scene shared by the characters played by Gallardo and Torres, one almost every YouTube reactor went crazy about.
Already the fastest Pinoy BL episode to reach more than 1 million views (it achieved the feat just after 4 days) the said love scene is made more memorable by how it was wonderfully shot and beautifully choreographed, with most reactors noting the actors’ very realistic portrayal. But one can’t deny it’s also the length of the kissing scene that made the audience gasp.
MARISSA’S AND GABRIEL’S BETRAYAL EXPOSED IN ‘ANG SA IYO AY AKIN’
Following weeks of unperturbed momentum, tension is exploding in Kapamilya Channel’s revenge-serye, ‘Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin’, where Ellice (Iza Calzado), after a long period of fighting her hunches about her husband, Gabriel (Sam Milby) and after being proven wrong of her suspicions about her best friend, Marissa (Jodi Sta.Maria), finally comes to her senses and begins investigating.
Her dangerous efforts ultimately lead her to find Gabriel cheating on her with Marissa, and that Marissa’s son, Jacob, is her husband’s.
ALDEN RICHARDS RETURNS TO PRIMETIME
Alden Richards is getting more projects that most artists in the industry these days. Among those projects is the one he stars with Descendants of the Sun’s Jasmine Curtis-Smith, the mini-series ‘Love On the Balcony’.
Just one of at least four titles under the drama anthology ‘I Can See You’, the week-long engagement features a light and heartwarming love story between a front liner and a photographer, amidst pandemic.
ANGELICA PANGANIBAN THRILLS AUDIENCE WITH A NEW MYSTERY DRAMA
Angelica Panganiban is joined by Paulo Avelino and Zanjoe Marudo, in a mystery drama that tackles about a broken family, child trafficking, revenge, among many others.
Taking off from an already explosive start on Monday, ‘Walang Hanggang Paalam’ unravels more clues, and some answers, but the mystery remains why Celine’s (Panganiban) son, Robbie, was kidnapped, and who his real kidnappers are.
The series is made more exciting by injecting elements of revenge and crime to its plot, while the fast-paced proceedings help the show to keep its burning momentum. Arci Muñoz, JC Santos, McCoy de Leon, Lotlot de Leon, Ronnie Lazaro, and Cherry Pie Picacho are also members of the cast.
MORE ENTRIES TO THE BOYS’ LOVE CRAZE
New titles under the Boys’ Love genre premiered over the week. Globe Studios debuted Juan Miguel Severo’s Gaya Sa Pelikula, with I’m Drunk, I Love You director, JP Habac, at the helm.
The series stars newcomers, Ian Pangilinan and Paolo Pangilinan, who are both charmers in a story about a boy dealing with self-independence, and the other guy who helps him navigate his journey towards fulfilling his dream getting into the movie business.
Earlier in the week, TV5 delivered the first-ever Pinoy BL series on national television. My Extra Ordinary is brimming with gentle charm, offering a beautiful coming-of-age story about two teenagers coming-into-terms with their sexuality.
A FUN NEW SEGMENT EXCITES IT’S SHOWTIME VIEWERS
After the viral success of ‘Mas Testing’, It’s Showtime is again topping the trends with the brand new segment ‘Hide And Sing’. The guessing game taps a celebrity player who tries his luck by guessing who among three covered-up singers is a celebrity.
It is a fun show that also engages TV viewers in a detective-playing game, and gives away a handful of cash prizes to lucky online guessers. The segment is featured every Tuesday and Thursday on It’s Showtime.
