Radio DJ Chacha tweeted a clip of broadcast journalist and anchor Ted Failon’s stand on red-tagged individuals and celebrities.
Firstly, Failon differentiated communism and democracy in the video. He then proceeded with a simple analogy using radio stations on how democratic and the communist government responds to opposing views.
“Kung di mo gusto ang sinasabi ng taong nagsasalita sa radyo, patayin mo ang radyo, that is democracy. Kung di mo gusto ang sinasabi ng taong nagsasalita sa radyo, ipasara mo ang istasyon, that is communism,” said Failon.
He then added the red-tagging issue of Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. against celebs like Liza Soberano, Catriona Gray, and Angel Locsin. Then, he asked his listeners to think about who is the real communist based on his analogy.
“Ngayon sa pagitan po ni Lt. Gen Paglarde at mga individual gaya po nila Liza, Catriona, ni Angel na na red-tag. Sa pagitan po nila ni General at mga taong ito. Sino ang umaasta na komunista? Think about it,” said Failon.
“Sino sa kanilang totoong Komunista?” – Ted Failon

Recently, the government red-tagged celebs such as Liza, Catriona, and Angel after Parlade called them out in one of his statements. The statement was a response to Liza’s attendance at the Gabriela Women’s Party webinar wherein the actress spoke about her advocacies for women.
Parlade warned Liza and Catriona, about joining Gabriela Women’s Party. He correlated the killing of activist Josephine Anne Lapira in his warnings to Liza, insinuating that she might suffer the same fate if she continued supporting the women’s group. He then accused Angel’s sister Ella Colmenares of being in the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army.
