With the return of the 9th season of the beloved reality TV show, Pinoy Big Brother: Connect, netizens poked fun at some of the auditionees who supported ABS-CBN’s shutdown.
One of these auditionees is Charlie Drin.
Because of this, Kapamilya actress Nikki Valdez took to Twitter to advise Charlie about his PBB audition. She noted that he should seek help from the 69 solons who voted against the media giant’s franchise renewal.
“Charlie Drin iho, sakanila ka humingi ng suporta para makapasok sa PBB!!! Baka may magawa sila para sayo,” said Nikki via Twitter.

Netizens first spotted Charlie when he shared his experience via Facebook. Firstly, Charlie recounted his online audition. He then noted that he received a direct message from the showrunners via the Kumu app, letting him know that he got through to the next stage of auditions.
After much digging, netizens found his previous posts showing support to solons who voted against ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal. Then, Charlie received backlash from netizens for his audacity to audition despite supporting the media giant’s shutdown.
As of the fourth day of auditions, PBB: Connect reported that they have over 48 000 audition entries via the Kumu app. PBB still stands as Filipino’s best hope in getting into showbiz. There is no denying that PBB launches careers in showbiz like those of alums such as Sam Milby, Joshua Garcia, Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, James Reid, Maymay Entrata, and a lot more.
