House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano went viral after a video of him kneeling in a pray over amongst the members of the House of Representatives after the plenary session on October 6, 2020, was uploaded online.
Actress Nikki Valdez reacted to the video posted by Rappler. She noted that the lawmakers in the video were the ones who killed the lives and dreams of ABS-CBN employees.
Same lawmakers who ‘killed’ the lives and dreams of ABSCBN employees?
I pray that you all, specially you Cayetano, don’t feel the pain you caused all these people because you I don’t think you can ever handle it. https://t.co/iI7O5M6JRQ

“Same lawmakers who ‘killed’ the lives and dreams of ABSCBN employees?” said Nikki via Twitter.
Nikki cited what happened with the Congressional hearing of the ABS-CBN franchise renewal in which the 70 solons voted against the media giant’s franchise renewal.
She also hoped that Cayetano would not feel the same pain that they caused the ABS-CBN employees who suffered because of the media giant’s shutdown.

Actor-comedian John Lapus also reacted to the video with emojis depicting what he thought of Cayetano’s actions.
Puro ka drama. Ginagamit mo pa ang Diyos para lang sa ganid sa kapangyarihan. pic.twitter.com/8nPtU10z9i

Host Jules Guiang said that his actions were just a dramatic ruse. He also called out the politician for using religion in his ambitions to hold on to power.
The pray over was after the plenary session wherein representatives accused House Speaker Cayetano of railroading the legislative process. During the plenary session, representatives who tried to protest against the budget proposal were allegedly muted during his speech to prevent objection.
House Speaker Cayetano and Speaker-in-waiting Lord Allan Velasco are now clashing over the House speakership because of the budget hearing. Velasco’s camp claims that Cayetano was to step down by October 14 which was their previous agreement, while Cayetano’s camp claims that there is no specified date to the end of his term as House Speaker.
