Julia Barretto is now part of Viva Artists Agency after leaving Star Magic. For this reason, the actress was dismissed from the ABS-CBN series “Cara Y Cruz” which was later renamed to “Bagong Umaga”.
Following this, it has been assumed by some that the 23-year-old star will no longer work with Star Magic artists.
Is it now impossible for Julia to pair up with her ex-boyfriend Joshua Garcia in a project?
In her previous interview, Julia was asked for the three things she will miss about Joshua after they went their separate ways.
“First I think, ‘yung makatrabaho ang isang mahusay na aktor, very good actor so ayun. Pangalawa, ‘yung maging maalaga niya sa set sa akin. And pangatlo, ‘yung friendship namin dahil maganda na hanggang ngayon naman, e, magkaibigan pa rin kami,” Julia said.
Since the two have been good friends after breakup, Julia was also asked to give advice to couples who still hold grudges after separating.
“Wow, love guru pala ako. Siguro dapat kayong dalawa willing to save the friendship, kasi kung isa lang sa inyo ang may gusto, hindi talaga masi-save ang friendship.
“Pero kung both ends naman nagpapakita na gustong maayos, maganda ‘yun. At saka maganda ‘yung while moving forward. Alam mo na ‘yung sa past mo, e maayos ang naging ending. Masaya at natutuwa ako na naging maayos ang ending naming dalawa. Lumabas kami ng break-up namin ng mas mature at mas mabuting tao,”Julia added.
The actress then gave an intriguing answer when she was asked if she is willing to give Joshua a second chance.
“Naku pag binigyan ko hindi na second chance ‘yun (natawa). Nth chance na ‘yun! So lampas na ng second chance.
“You know what, kidding aside, I think we’re just really moving forward with our lives already. Hindi na kami parehong eager to go back to the past.
“Parehong klaro sa aming dalawa na we’re friends and we’re going to move forward. And I wish him the best and I hope that whoever he ends up with, sana ay talagang mahalin at alagaan siya nang mabuti, ‘yun lang naman.
“As for me, I’m moving forward and I’m very, very happy and I’m really in a good place with my life, there’s no need to go back,” she said.
As for guesting on Joshua’s vlog, Julia said, “Actually napag-usapan na namin ‘yan na gusto niya akong i-guest sa vlog niya kasi nag-YouTube na rin siya at gusto niyang mag-collaborate kami sa vlog niya pero adventure raw ang gusto niya.”
JoshLia rose to fame after they were first paired in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Vince and Kath and James.”
Julia and Joshua appeared in several more major projects, including the primetime drama “Ngayon at Kailanman” in 2018.
Their onscreen romance later translated into real life but it did not last. The two ended their real and onscreen partnership last year. It was during the promotion of Julia and Gerald Anderson’s film titled Between Maybes when rumors about the JoshLia breakup spread like wildfire.
Their split was believed to be caused by Julia’s rumored romance with Gerald.
