Seasoned actor and activist John Arcilla has shared his insight about calling out the government and its incompetent officials.
In a tweet, Arcilla reminded people that calling out ineffective state policies does not equate to fighting or wanting to topple the government.
“MAGKAIBA HO ANG LUMALABAN SA GOBYERNO AT PUMUPUNA sa MGA HINDI EPEKTIBONG OPISYAL.Ang PAGPUNA HO ay PARTISIPASYON AT PAGMAMAHAL SA BAYAN”
He also added that it is every taxpayer’s right to criticize the government because it is part of democracy.
“KARAPATAN ng NAGBABAYAD NG BUWIS AT BAHAGI NG SINASABI NATING KALAYAAN. Wag ho sanang MAGULUHAN ang ISIP NG ATING MGA MAMAMAYAN.”

Arcilla is one of the Filipino artists who did not mind sharing his reactions and criticisms about the government’s incompetencies.
His tweet came after diehard Duterte supporters and government officials like Spokesman Harry Roque chided Vice President Leni Robredo over her latest trust and approval ratings.
In a statement, Roque attributed the Vice President’s lower rating compared to the President in her alleged politicking and criticism of the government.
Meanwhile, prior to this latest tweet, Arcilla has been very vocal on social media about national issues.
At the height of the pandemic in April, Arcilla called out President Duterte’s shoot to kill statement against quarantine violators in one of his speeches.
