Kapamilya actress Bela Padilla was spotted in Turkey, seemingly taking a vacation with an unknown guy that people speculated was her new boyfriend.
Photos of the actress with a guy emerged online as they were seen riding a hot air balloon and an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) together. These lead to the people thinking that the man that Bela was with was indeed her boyfriend.
However, netizens were confused as to why Bela was able to take a vacation abroad knowing that non-essential travels are still prohibited due to the threat of the coronavirus. They claim that special considerations were given to artists like Bela in terms of travel concerns that’s why she was able to go out of the country for vacation and leisure trips.
Nevertheless, people were happy that Bela was able to find new love after her previous relationship with Neil Arce which lasted for about four years.
Neil Arce is currently engaged to actress Angel Locsin. When Bela was asked on her Instagram about the condition of her heart knowing that her ex was already engaged, she said that she’s happy and not affected by it.
“Why would you assume that I’m affected? I’m happy for them,” she wrote.
Bela and Neil broke up in early 2017 and it was around February 2018 that Angel confirmed her relationship with Neil. Rumors about Angel and Arce dating started around March 2017 but it was only after about a year after that Angel revealed that they were already together.
The reason for the breakup of Bela and Arce was because Bela prioritized her showbiz career over her love life which gave her less time with her boyfriend that then led to their breakup.
Bela and Angel are on good terms despite the latter dating Bela’s ex. In an episode of ‘Tonight with Boy Abunda’ in April 2017, Bela admitted that she is friends with Angel and that she was okay with Arce dating again.
She added, “If they aren’t [yet a couple], they will be. They have a very good foundation. I see both of them, and they’re compatible.”
She mentioned that Neil is someone whom she depends on and will always be a part of her life.
“Hindi kami mawawala sa buhay ng isa’t isa forever. Alam ko na maaasahan ko si Neil kahit kailan, at alam niya naman na maaasahan niya rin ako. ‘Pag may kailangan siya, nandito lang naman ako,” she said.
“Hindi ako natatakot na mawawala kami from each other… Siguro mag-i-evolve ‘yung relationship na parang magkapatid na lang kami. Hindi na siya mawawala sa life ko,” she added.
Bela and Arce are on good terms with each other as they worked on several collaborations through film projects together even after their breakup.
Bela Padilla started her career in showbiz after being a part of the teen drama series Star Magic Presents: Abt Ur Luv Ur Lyf 2 (2006) with Krista Valle as her stage name. She later changed her stage name to Krista Sullivan which is her real name.
She moved to the Kapuso network in 2010 and changed her screen name as Bela Padilla along with her move. She returned to ABS-CBN in 2010 after signing a contract with Dreamscape Entertainment Television and became a part of the hit TV series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
She became a part of several other series such as My Dear Heart (2017) and Sino ang May Sala? (2019). She also starred in the drama film On Vodka, Beers and Regrets.
