Daniel Padilla earned more admiration online after stating that he will wait for ABS-CBN’s return.
After Congress “killed” its franchise on July 10, 2020, the network shuttered many of its existing programs and was forced to implement a retrenchment program that affected thousands of its employees.
Many Kapamilya stars also opted to work and move to other TV networks.
Despite the situation, Daniel assured people that he and his girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo will still remain with ABS-CBN.
Daniel was interviewed at a presscon for Apollo: A Daniel Padilla Digital Experience last October 6.
Daniel confirmed to MJ Felipe that he and Kathryn asked the ABS-CBN bosses for the things they can do to help the network.
“Yes, that’s true,” Daniel confirmed.
Daniel then said that he has a debt of gratitude to the network.
“Unang-una, malaki ang utang na loob namin sa ABS-CBN. Malaki talaga sa akin personally. Yung buhay ko nagbago [180 degrees]. Nakakatulog nang maigi ang pamilya ko ngayon dahil sa mga ibinigay ng ABS-CBN na proyekto sa akin. Siyempre yung ibinigay nila sa akin, trinabaho ko naman. So, you know, it’s a give and take.”
The actor said he is willing to wait and believes that the network will soon surpass the situation it currently faces.
“I can wait, you know. Kaya ko maghintay. It’s not the end of me kapag lumipat na ako or something. I can wait hanggang makabangon ang ABS-CBN dahil naniniwala ako na babangon tayong lahat dito. Hindi lang para sa aming mga artista, pero para sa mga empleyado na nawalan ng trabaho sa ABS-CBN. Kasama nila akong naghihintay.”
Last weekend, ABS-CBN’s teleseryes, movies, and live entertainment shows aired on the newly rebranded A2Z channel 11 on analog broadcast.
This was made possible through the blocktime arrangement of ABS-CBN and A2Z, formerly known as Zoe Channel 11.
Daniel said, “And now, there’s news na babalik na tayo. That’s good. Tayo ngayon, trabahuhin natin nang mabuhay muli ang ABS-CBN.”
The actor reiterated his support for ABS-CBN which he said is a way of giving back.
“Yun lang sa amin. Kaya namin maghintay dahil iba rin naman ang ibinigay na tiwala sa amin ng ABS-CBN. It’s the least we can do for them.”
Following this, Daniel earned positive remarks from netizens as he affirmed his loyalty to ABS-CBN.
Here are some of the netizens who praised the actor:
