KathNiel just had their media conference for their newest digital series, The House Arrest of Us. At the said conference, Kathryn Bernardo was asked about her thoughts if her boyfriend and on-screen partner Daniel Padilla will be paired with other celebrities in a project in the future.
To recall, Kathryn starred with Alden Richards in the movie Hello Love, Goodbye in 2019. She said that she won’t deprive Daniel of the chance of being paired to other female personalities most especially if there will be opportunities offered to him.
The actress replied, “Honestly, ayokong maging selfish na ipagkait yung ganung opportunity kay DJ. Kung dumating yung time na may offer sa kanya and gusto niya…”
But even before ending her statement, Daniel cut her off and said that he does not want it happen, “Hindi, ayoko!” then tittered.
“‘Di natin alam eh, kasi ang dami ring gustong makatrabaho si DJ at ang daming projects na hindi naman para sa amin lahat ng projects na yun,” she added.
Kathryn also said that she will supportive of her partner in whatever endeavors he may engage in in the future.
“Kung gusto niya, I will support him, I will respect his decision. Kung paano yung suporta na binigay niya sa akin sa last project ko, ganun din ang ibibigay ko sa kanya,” she said.
“At the end decision niya yon, and andito lang ako as her number 1 fan,” she added.
Daniel and Kathryn first worked together in the youth-oriented series, Growing Up. This was followed by the TV series Princess and I. Their movie debut happened through the film 24/7 In Love in 2012. From then many other projects followed, making KathNiel one of the most sought love teams in the industry.
Their on-screen tandem eventually flourished into a serious, real-life relationship. Daniel shared that he underwent the traditional courting process for Kathryn and didn’t go the easy way, saying ‘dumaan ako sa butas ng karayom’, describing the situation.
At the same conference, Kathryn affirmed that they both have marriage plans before reaching 30s.
