Charo Santos-Concio revealed that she is excited about the return of her show Maalaala Mo Kaya on free TV during a virtual interview.
In an episode of ‘We Rise Together’ on Friday, October, 9, Charo was asked 5 different questions for the show’s “Tough 5 Questions” segment.
The show ‘We Rise Together‘ is under the ABS-CBN where it showcases the latest updates and information regarding Kapamilya entertainment programs and celebrities.
Charo shared about an incident in her life wherein she felt embarrassed. She talked about her experience when she was younger in which she was forced to stand in front of the class and apologize to her classmate whom she hurt.
She explained that she got a little bit offended when her classmate was taunting her that’s why she threw a book at her classmate. Charo’s act was caught by their teacher at the time so she was forced to apologize in front of all her other classmates.
“There was this classmate who was taunting me. Nakipagbiruan naman ako pero napikon ako at a certain point. ‘Yung libro ko na hawak ko binato ko sa kanya. Pero ‘yung biruan na bato,” she said.
“God, pinatawag ako ng teacher ko sa harap ng klase at tinanong ako ‘bakit mo ginawa ‘yan?’ I had to apologize to my classmate in front of everyone. Really it was so embarrassing but lesson learned,” she added.
When Charo was asked about something that makes her lose her poise, she explained that “It’s when I’m bullied. When somebody bullies me, I lose my poise. Klaro ang boundaries ko. You can disagree with me, you can even walk out but it’s the bullying. Nawawala ang poise ko talaga.”
She also shared that she is a fan of Korean actor Hyun Bin of the drama series ‘Crash Landing on You.‘ She said that the show is a great help to her as well as to other people to have a happy moment despite the pandemic.
“Nakakatuwa na ‘Crash Landing’ came at the right time. It provided the relief that everyone was looking for,” she said.
She mentioned that she doesn’t regret all the roles that she portrayed as an actress because she said that she played those parts for a reason.
“Binabalikan ba ang nakaraan? Alam mo lahat ng choices ko in the past may konteksto ‘yon. Ang kuwento ng aking nakaraan ay kasama ‘yon sa paghubog sa aking pagkatao. Siguro kung mas alam ko noon ang alam ko ngayon, siguro mas magiging mapili ako sa mga karakter na ginampanan ko,” she explain.
When asked what she would say to Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin) from the show ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano‘, she said that goodness will always prevail in the end.
“Cardo, may pagkasapusa ka ba? Seriously speaking, siguro sasabihin ko ‘Cardo, huwag kang mag-alala sa kahuli-hulihan ay magtatagumpay ang kabutihan sa kasamaan,'” she mentioned.
In the same interview, Charo explained that she is glad that her show MMK, along with some ABS-CBN shows, will be back on free TV.
“Na-miss ko rin at na-miss ko ‘yung loyal Kapamilya natin na sumusubaybay, nanonood ng ‘MMK.’ Natutuwa nga ako sa mga message na natatagpuan ko since the announcement that some of the ABS-CBN programs will be back on the air. So nakakatuwa,” she said.
Previously, MMK suspended production of its new episodes following the implementation of ECQ in Luzon and the shutdown of the ABS-CBN network. Some of the old episodes of the show ranging from the mid-2000s were aired via subscription television ‘The Filipino Channel’. The show had no new episodes for about 7 months since it first suspended productions on March 14.
ABS-CBN network partnered with Zoe Broadcasting Network which will air some of the Kapamilya shows through the newly rebranded Channel 11, A2Z.
MMK was announced to be one of the shows that will air on A2Z along with ‘It’s Showtime‘, and ‘ASAP Natin To’.
Other Kapamilya shows that will air in the broadcasting network include ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,’ ‘Ang Sa Iyo ay Akin,’ ‘Walang Hanggang Paalam’, ‘Paano Kita Mapapasalamatan,’ ‘Iba ‘Yan,’ ‘Magandang Buhay,’ and ‘I Can See Your Voice‘ beginning October 12.
