The son of Caridad Sanchez, Alexander Joseph Babao, refuted his sister Cathy’s claim that their mother has dementia.

In his Instagram account, Alexander showed how active the veteran actress is. In an Instagram video, Sanchez is boxing with her son. She also called out her moves.

In the video, Sanchez even says “di na kailangan ng kape malakas ko.”

In another photo, Sanchez shows how spry she is while boxing and even invites everyone to stay active.

Last Friday, her daughter, grief coach Cathy Babao revealed that Sanchez has dementia via an ABS-CBN News interview. Alexander then replied that their mother has a mild cognitive handicap that goes with aging. He also noted that Cathy violated their privacy and that while in his care, the veteran actress remains physically fit and strong.

In her Instagram account, Cathy clarified her side of the story. She said that it was never her intention to disparage her mother.

“It was never my intention to disrespect or disparage my mother’s image when I started to write about her dementia on social media. It took me a very long time to decide whether or not I would share our family’s story,” said Cathy.

Cathy also noted that there is nothing shameful about admitting that their mom has dementia and that she wanted to help others understand and accept what is happening to their loved ones who may have dementia.

Lastly, she recalled how Sanchez always carried a soft spot for seniors. Cathy also said her mom would have shared her condition if she knew that it helps others.
