Brightlight Productions founder Albee Benitez reacted to the cancellation of Kris Aquino’s TV show when he was asked about it as reported by entertainment columnist Salve Asis in Pilipino Star Ngayon.
Kris was supposed to have her TV comeback on TV5 with her talk show ‘Love Life with Kris’ which was supposed to be produced by Brightlight Productions.
In the said report, it was mentioned that Albee seemed to have let out a smile when he heard the question before answering it saying, “Let’s keep it under wraps na kasi mukhang ano na ‘yun, eh, past na ‘yun. Let bygones be bygones.”
Albee explained that the TV show of Kris simply didn’t work out and that’s why it failed to premiere. He said that his company is estimating that the shows produced by Brightlight Productions will rate next year.
Kris Aquino officially announced the cancellation of her talk show through her post on Instagram. She posted a brief explanation saying that the producer of her show chose someone else over her.
She directly explained the reason without sugarcoating the truth along with her caption in the post, “My truth.”

“This is a life update post I wish I didn’t have to make, BUT it’s something I’m facing up to in order to truthfully move on,” she started.
“My [hope] for TV comeback isn’t happening, the producer chose somebody else he and his sales team felt was more viable. No sugarcoating from me, you’re getting the honest truth,” she added.
There have been speculations that Kris has been replaced by Korina Sanchez, who is the ‘Rated Korina’ host with whom Kris had a feud a few years back.
Previously, Kris has posted teasers of her show ‘Love Life with Kris‘ which thrilled her fans. Her show was supposed to premiere in July but was moved to the following month and then eventually canceled.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Kris shared the teaser of her supposed TV comeback with the caption, “Thanks to ALL OF YOU, I’m starting MY NEW BEGINNING.”
In the trailer, Kris mentioned that, “Maraming nagsabi this day would never arrive. After hearing that too many times, even I started to believe it. Yet, nandito na ako.”
Despite the cancelation of her TV show on TV5, there have been speculations that Kris will be hired to host a talk show in a different TV network soon.
“Iha-hire po namin si Kris Aquino for a new TV network soon,” according to an article by Abante.
