In July, ABS-CBN’s bid for a fresh 25-year franchise was declined by the House of Representatives forcing the network to shut down its broadcast operations.
Fortunately, a few months later, ABS-CBN sealed a deal with Zoe TV which is owned by evangelical leader Bro. Eddie Villanueva. Since October 10, some Kapamilya shows and movies were now being aired on the rebranded A2Z channel.
However, Congress seems to be unhappy with the recovery of ABS-CBN and are now targetting the network’s deal with Zoe TV. Kapamilya actress Agot Isidro reacted to this latest move of Congress on her Twitter account.
Agot expressed hope that Congress use the same zeal and energy they used to attack ABS-CBN to finding the missing P15B from the PhilHealth corruption.
Sana same energy sa 15B na nawawala sa PhilHealth…😒 https://t.co/gQfH3Zfi3m

Last Wednesday, New House Minority Leader Joseph Stephen Paduano suggested that the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) investigate the block time agreement between ABS-CBN and Zoe TV for probable legal and tax issues.
As of this writing, NTC and BIR haven’t released any statement regarding this move from Congress.
