From the Meteor Garden of Taiwan to the Boys Over Flower of Korea, Japan, and China, the Boys Over Flowers franchise is about to get the Thai treatment.
Thailand has just released the teasers of their adaptation of the beloved romantic saga.
The adaptation stars Bright Vachirawit; and Win Metawin, who popularized the Boys Love series ‘2gether’. The series will air on GMMTV.
The news of the two working on their new project received mixed reactions from netizens. Entertainment News Reporter MJ Felipe compared the situation in Thailand and the Phillippines in terms of the COVID-19 pandemic.
I know it's not fit to compare PH w/ other countries, pero nung napanood ko plug ng F4 ng Thailand, dun ko naramdaman ang inggit. Bakit sila ok na o close to ok na? Bakit tayo 6months na kulong pa rin? Mapanis sana ang ulam ngayong gabi ng mga taong nagpabaya sa krisis na ito. 😤

Other Netizens expressed their reluctance to the plot of romanticizing school bullying as it is an outdated trope. Fans are hoping that there will be a change in the plot to make it more relevant to this current era.
Actually the problematic plot is *romanticizing* school bullying… Not school bullying per se.
The way I read it, they want to emphasize on the social issue and character growth. Maybe more similar to Hana Yori Dango (the Japanese version).
So yes, let's just wait#F4Thailand https://t.co/Aa4fS6dS9q
