A new noontime show to be led by comedians Anjo Yllana, Janno Gibbs, and KitKat is set to go up against the longest-running noontime variety show in the country, Eat Bulaga.
The program titled Happy Time will air on Net25 with the same timeslot as its rival.
Anjo and Janno were former hosts of Eat Bulaga. Anjo recently announced his resignation from the show last month after 21 years. The reason for his move was not disclosed but it was reported that Net25’s project offer for him prompted his decision.
He started working for the noontime show in 1999. Meanwhile, Janno became part of the program from 2001 to 2007.
The two also worked together on the sitcom Ober Da Bakod on GMA Network which lasted for 5 years.
Anjo said they want to give happiness with the show unminding about the competition.
Anjo said in the teaser video of Net25, “We do not want to compete. Magpapasaya lang kami. Dahil nga katulad ng sinabi ko, kumbaga sa tanghali, hindi naman pupuwedeng isang ulam lang. Mas maganda kung merong pinagpipilian.”
Happy Time will start on Monday, September 14. It will offer segments which will aim to help Filipinos who struggle during this pandemic.
The staff of the upcoming show already rehearsed for its game segments with “catchy and exciting” titles. Anjo, Janno, and KitKat will also be accompanied by dancers who will serve as Money Girls.
Another competitor from TV5 is also seen to go head to head with Eat Bulaga.
The network is speculated to produce a noontime show set to be hosted by Kapamilya talents Billy Crawford and Luis Manzano though this news has yet to be confirmed.
