Kapuso star Maine Mendoza revealed that she was upset that people violated her privacy by sharing her private blog. She also revealed that she doesn’t want people to vote for her as the Philippines’ Sexiest woman of 2020 as she doesn’t want to be knowns as a sexy star.
The 25-year-old actress made the revelation in an entry to her personal blog page. The said blog page is considered by Maine as her ‘safe space’ because only a few people know about it, unlike her public blog page which is mainemendoza.com.
The young actress mentioned that she recently found out that a number of people already found her personal blog and shared it on different social media platforms which made her upset. She said that the news made her dazed all morning.
“To be completely honest, I was upset the whole morning. Like a montage movie scene, when the actor stays dazed whatever he/she does and wherever he/she goes. Tulala is the term. Tulala pagkagising. Tulala habang umiihi. Tulala habang naliligo. Tulala habang nasa sasakyan,” Maine wrote.
She said that she was sad and disappointed that her request for people to keep her personal blog a secret was dismissed by others.
“But yeah, it made me sad. It was because the person who felt the need to share my blog on Twitter took no notice of my only request to keep things ‘between the two of us,’” she wrote.
Even though Maine’s blog was set to be on public, she wanted her page readers to remain as random people from across the country. She didn’t want to be recognized as an artist and just wanted to freely write her thoughts and opinions.
She said that the many people that found her blog all at once and recognizing her as an artist made her sad because she felt like they gained access to her ‘diary’. She described the feeling as something like she was betrayed by a friend of hers. She also said that all she wanted was to write for strangers that also see her as one and not as a TV personality.
“I want to connect with random people through my stories. I don’t want my entries to get talked about by people just because. I long for the connection, not the attention,” said Maine.
She explained that she already expected people to find her blog but she didn’t think that they would find it this soon. Nevertheless, she asserted that she will be fine with it in time.
“I was just expecting for people to find out about this blog at a much later time. Well, some things arrive earlier than expected and I guess it ain’t that bad of a thing. Just gotta accept things for how they are,” she said.
Maine also wrote about her concerns regarding the people who are voting for her as PH’s Sexiest Woman for 2020. She was shocked to hear about the news and said that if given the chance, she wouldn’t want to accept the title as ‘PH’s Sexiest Woman’. She explained that she didn’t deserve the part and she wouldn’t want to be acknowledged by people who only appreciate her sexiness.
She said that even though she posts bikini photos on her social media accounts, she still didn’t want to have the title.
“I just want to know why the hell did you keep on voting for me as the Philippines Sexiest this 2020??? I was like, WHAT THE ACTUAL F—? How did we get there? I mean, let’s be real here: aside from the fact that I don’t deserve a spot on the list, I am not going the pa-sexy route – like ever!” she said.
“Sure, I post beach photos from time to time but that does not mean I want to be recognized as a sexy star one day. Like, it’s super cringeworthy. I don’t see myself being proud of a title like that,” she added.
But Maine still thanked her fans for supporting her by saying, “Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the time and effort spent on voting day and night but (excuse my language) that shit ain’t for me.”
At the end of her blog entry, Maine wished her fans and readers well and for them to have good health especially since the country is still suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic. She advised people to always pray and observe quarantine protocols.
She also reminded the people to register themselves as a voter to be able to exercise their right to vote in 2022.
