In a YouTube vlog of Kylie Padilla and Aljur Abrenica, Kylie revealed that the early stage of their relationship was toxic.
Kylie noted it was difficult because her father Robin Padilla was strict.
“Nung start pa lang ng relationship namin, medyo di sya naging maganda… Hindi talaga sya naging maganda. Strict kasi yung tatay ko, ayaw pa nyang magkaboyfriend ako,” said Kylie.
She added that their unrest started when her family found out that she was seeing someone.
“After nun, nung malaman nila I was seeing someone yun na nagkagulo na,” Kylie added.
Kylie said that their experience in the early stages of their relationship was toxic especially because their issues were out in the open.
“Based on my experience on the earlier part of our relationship natin, andami talagang toxic na nangyari. Hindi kailangan ng dirty laundry mo iere mo. That’s not how I want my life to be like,” said Kylie.
She said that since everything is now under their control, they choose to keep their relationship more private.
“That’s why now, medyo low key kami, kasi nga toxic ng first part of our relationship. And now that everything is under our control, we try to keep it private,” said Kylie.

In 2011, Kylie and Aljur started their relationship during their stay in GMA7 but they broke up in 2014. They got back together in 2016 and they got engaged in October of the same year.
Rumors about Kylie’s pregnancy arose in January 2017 and Kylie gave birth to their firstborn, Alas, on August 4, 2017. Robin saw his grandson for the first time in November 2017, and he patched things up with Aljur in February 2018.
Kylie and Aljur got married on December 11, 2018, and had their second son, Axl Romeo, in December 2019.
