Singer-actress Ylona Garcia, beauty queen-actress Rich Asuncion, and model-DJ Jinri Park are showing that they don’t care about the criticisms of people when they revealed that they have been working abroad.

Ylona is a talent of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic but since her home network was forced to shut down and with the country still being threatened by the COVID-19 pandemic, she decided to work as a service crew member at McDonald’s. She is currently working in Sydney, Australia, the country where she was born and raised before entering the showbiz industry.

The 18-year-old singer revealed that she is now working at the fast-food restaurant on her Instagram account when she posted a photo of herself wearing the crew uniform of the restaurant.

“hey y’all, i decided to work at @mcdonaldsau :)) feel free to come thruuu && i’ll serve you xx,” she wrote.

Many netizens commended her decision to work at the restaurant saying that she showed great courage in making a drastic change with her career as someone who is a celebrity.

Ylona also garnered support from fellow Kapamilya celebrities such as Denise Laurel and Jay-R.

“Stay safe beautiful. I already know u gonna make everyone’s day brighter,” Denise wrote.

“Get it lil Homie,” Jay-R commented.

Ylona flew to Australia back in July and has completed the government-mandated quarantine upon arrival in the country.

Meanwhile, Rich Asuncion also revealed that she works as a waitress in Australia and is trying to start over with her life along with her husband and child.

Rich was the First Princess of GMA’s StarStruck: The Next Level in 2006. She was also the First Runner-up of Binibining Pilipinas 2009.

In an Instagram post, she shared about her life in Australia saying that she is able to find happiness in life once again as she was wallowing in sadness before.

She admitted that it was hard for her to adjust to working as a waitress there but eventually learned that there is nothing wrong with that kind of job.

“My point here is, I know most of us will need to adjust to a new/different life after this pandemic. And that’s not all that bad,” she said.

“To be able to survive through this is already a blessing. As hard as it may seem, look for the silver lining,” Asuncion added. “Hold on and say I am still a champion.”

She said that she was already able to accept her new career path and has found happiness with the help of her family.

On the other hand, Jinri Park is also working in Australia as a waitress. In an interview with the Summit Media network, she said “I am in my 30s, and I am in a new environment. It’s something like a new start. No one knows me, no one knows my background, no one really cares about me.”

She said that she found the experience liberating and that people should not look down on her job as it is something that is an honorable job.

“I don’t think it’s something to look down upon,” she said. “It’s a very exciting job.”

Jinri is a former model, actress, radio DJ, host, and Pinoy Big Brother Housemate. She moved to Australia with her new husband named John.

She decided to work because she said that she would want to save up for her education so that she can “get a degree for that job I want in the future.”

She talked about her realizations in life like how her life has changed greatly in her 30s compared to her 20s. She said that she already had her fun drinking and clubbing when she was younger and that she no longer desires that kind of life now.

“Honestly when I moved to Sydney I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I felt like I was back to zero, with not knowing what career path I’d want to take,” she said.

“I didn’t feel like I fit in that glamorous life of being a model anymore, and wanted to move past it to something I would grow into,” she added.

She explained that she wants to focus on her future together with her husband and advised that people should never give up in aiming to have a better life because she said that it’s never too late for people to start dreaming.

“Don’t ever be afraid to do something new, to start from the bottom and build your way up again,” Jinri said.

Celebrities like Ylona, Rich, and Jinri are proving that there is nothing shameful about trying to earn some honest money in hopes of providing for their family. They are trying their best to earn some money especially since work as celebrities in the Philippines is hard because the country is still under strict quarantine protocols.

Ylona Garcia became known when she joined “Pinoy Big Brother: 737” in 2015 where she won as first runner-up and received the title of “Daldal Darling ng Australia.” In 2016, she released her album under Star Music called My name is Ylona Garcia for which she received a gold certification.

She appeared on various ABS-CBN shows, including the drama series On the Wings of Love (2015-2016) and Sana Dalawa Ang Puso (2018).

Rich Asuncion is a Regal Entertainment contract star where she made several films and TV series. She was a part of the series Ika-6 na Utos (2016-2018). In 2019, she became a part of drama musical series Inagaw na Bituin and drama crime series Dahil sa Pag-Ibig.

Meanwhile, Jinri Park is starting a new life in Sydney Australia with her husband whom she married amid the pandemic. Their wedding ceremony didn’t push through but they wed with only the groom’s family as witnesses to their union.
