Recently, there have been rumors that Ivana Alawi will no longer be playing the lead role in the upcoming teleserye of ABS CBN, ‘Ang Lihim ni Ligaya‘, Erich Gonzales will reportedly taking over the role.
According to Philstar News, Erich Gonzales and JC de Vera are ready for the lock-in taping for the said teleserye and already did a swab test for COVID-19 and are currently under 14-day self-quarantine.
JC is supposedly replacing Kit Thompson, which also debunks the rumor that he was moving to TV5 to be with the rest of the Banana Sundae cast.
Erich and JC previously starred in a movie together, Once a Princess, with Enchong Dee and the team up is nothing new. As of this writing, Dreamscape and ABS-CBN are still mum and haven’t said anything about the said teleserye.
Recently, Jun Lalin of Abante Tonite wrote an article revealing that Janice de Belen and Agot Isidro, previously reported as part of Ang Lihim ni Ligaya, are going to be part of a new TV series with Erich in the lead role.
A post of Erich on Instagram added some truth to the rumor. The photo shows Erich holding a bouquet from Deo Endrinal, Dreamscape’s entertainment head and creator of “Ang Lihim ni Ligaya.”

On Ivana Alawi’s side, she became honest when she was asked about the status of her project, she clarified that she does not want to risk the health of her family and go out to work while COVID-19 is still very rampant in the country.
“Actually, guys, sa ngayon, hindi talaga ako lumalabas. Takot na takot ako lumabas kasi takot ako sa COVID. Hindi ko iri-risk na magtrabaho ako, mag-taping ako, mag-shooting, ‘tapos may mangyari kay Mona. Iyon talaga, at saka si Mama.”
She didn’t specify what teleseryes she turned down but she’s really choosing safety over career
“May mga shootings and may mga tapings na gusto nang magsimula, pero ako na mismo nagsasabi na hindi pa, kasi takot talaga ako sa COVID. And iyong main issue is ayokong mahawa si Mama, si Mona, ‘tsaka si Kuya [Hash Alawi], mga tao dito sa bahay.”
