Fresh Grads Find Ideal Career Starts with Alorica

With unprecedented disruptions causing the local unemployment rate to shoot up to 45%, thousands of Filipinos are now uncertain about their future. This is particularly true for this year’s new graduates, whose lack of career experience already pose a challenge when it comes to securing employment.

However, customer experience giant Alorica, Inc. does not require previous experience as a condition for employment. Instead, Alorica strives to consistently provide an excellent onboarding experience for all. With over 4,000 job vacancies servicing various industries including telecommunications, retail, health and finance, Alorica has designated an onboarding team to look after new joiners every step of the way. This is to ensure that the newest members of their family get to transition to this new environment without a hitch.

Alorica fosters a newbie-friendly environment, making learning more accessible. Supplemental training through micro-learning and bite-sized training modules are designed to appeal to the younger generation. An in-house app was also developed to easily address employees’ simple questions and feedback.

Testament to Alorica’s commitment to hone their employees’ skills to pursue their chosen careers is the rate of promotions within the company. Just last year, nearly 3,000 Alorica agents moved up the ranks within the organization.

“We’re in the people business for a reason. It’s all about making lives better—one interaction at a time. This applies to our clients, customers, employees and applicants. We truly believe that with the right passion and performance, the possibilities here are endless,” said Bong Borja, Alorica’s President of Asia-Pacific Operations.

“And although the young workforce may lack experience, they always brings with them renewed energy and creative ideas into the workplace. We have confidence in their ability to learn and given the right foundation, we know they can go far in their own career development, while helping Alorica get to the next level too,” Borja added.

Clark Alvaro, who recently earned his Psychology degree, decided to pursue a career in Alorica despite not having any work experience in order to help his family, especially during a pandemic. He is now in his first month with Alorica’s Alphaland site and is looking forward to more milestones with the company.

“Joining Alorica has taught me that as long as you have the heart and dedication to pursue the path you choose, success is guaranteed. The company, especially my teammates, has helped me grow out of my initial insecurities of not having any work experience and I am now looking forward to learning more and acquiring new skills to help the company progress,” Alvaro shared.
To Christian Alonzo, an agent in Alorica Cubao, landing a job in Alorica was easier than anticipated.

“I sent my application to Alorica online, and after two days, I already got a call for an interview. This was a relief, as I was a little bit intimidated in finding a job, thinking people might find my lack of experience as a sign of incompetence,” Alonzo recalls his application experience with Alorica.

“I really appreciate all the trainings laid out for me as soon as I started my employment to ensure that I can do my job properly. Seeing my seniors and trainers thrive in Alorica inspires me to be just like them, and I think that is the kind of motivation any fresh grad needs as they start their career,” he adds.
