Bugoy Drilon has now officially debunked rumors of him being banned from ABS-CBN.
Last Sunday, the singer was able to prove that he was no way affiliated with the ‘bad-mouthing’ of Daryl Ong when he was one of the performers of iWant ASAP Live.
Daryl had claimed that he and Bugoy were banned from the network following an incident where they allegedly bad-mouthed ABS-CBN as it was fighting for its franchise then.
On iWant TV’s YouTube channel, a performance highlight was posted of Bugoy singing his original hit song ‘Paano na Kaya’ which proves that he was not banned from ABS-CBN.
Recently, the two were said to be banned from ABS-CBN after their conversation at an airport was leaked and sent to the ABS-CBN executives talking about the network’s franchise plea.
But the Kapamilya singer said his conscience was clear because he never said anything bad against ABS-CBN.
“Ang sinabi ko lang po doon talaga, kasi that time, nagkakaroon sila ng sign petition, ‘di po ba? Na one million signatures for that petition.”
“Ang sabi sa akin ng isang RM (road manager). Hindi siya part ng Star Magic, pero nag-a-RM-RM siya sa isang artista po. And then, doon na siya nag-banter si ate girl na ‘Bakit hindi ka mag-invest sa ABS kasi medyo down sila.’”
“And then, doon na siya (Daryl) magsabi ng ‘Sa tingin mo ba mare-renew ‘yung franchise ng ABS-CBN?’ And ang sagot ko, ‘I think, yes,’” Bugoy said pertaining to the Facebook petition about renewing the ABS-CBN franchise.
Last June 15, Daryl explained his side of the story in his vlog on YouTube.
They initially mentioned investing in the stock market in his side of the story, before the discussion turned to the topic of the ABS-CBN franchise.
But the conversation was evidently captured by someone with whom they shared a table and the recording ultimately reached the executive of ABS-CBN.
