Despite the adversities they faced, ABS-CBN is thriving in digital with its online presence.
The network may have suffered a crippling blow in terms of its shutdown and the COVID-19 pandemic, but it still going on and going strong. ABS-CBN still aims to provide excellent and top-notch content to its viewers via their online platforms.
With the lack of free TV frequency, ABS-CBN still managed to produce a successful run for their teleserye with the recent conclusion of Love Thy Woman. The teleserye garnered positive feedback from its online viewers via social media.
The network also digitally launched the new teleserye, Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin. It aired August 17, 2020, and stars Jodi Sta. Maria, Iza Calzado, and Sam Milby.
Now, ABS-CBN is set to launch another new teleserye: Walang Hanggang Paalam with Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo.
ABS-CBN is also at the forefront of producing the newest content for its existing programs like FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and A Soldier’s Heart. Both of which have new episodes instead of replays.
Aside from prime teleseryes on digital platforms, ABS-CBN also produced other digital content like its Boys Love Series, Hello Stranger, The Four Bad Boys and Me, and Toni Gonzaga’s talk show I Feel U.
The network also kept its prime shows such as Magandang Buhay, It’s Showtime, and TV Patrol, which all moved to digital platforms through Kapamilya Channel Live.
The network also completed its digital run of The Voice Teens Season 2. Most recently, ABS-CBN launched its online star search competition: Ultimate Bida Star. Both abide by the ‘new normal’ standards, in which competitors perform at their homes.

With its digital shift, the success of the network is measurable through views, likes, follows, and subscriptions.
Based on Tubular Labs, Inc back in April 2020, ABS-CBN News fared greatly with its contents. It boasts 396.1 million in recorded views on Facebook and 144 Million views on YouTube. Additionally, ABS-CBN.com surpassed Pinoy news websites such as Inquirer.net and Rappler in terms of visits.
According to SocialBakers for September 2020, ABS-CBN Entertainment and ABS-CBN News soar in the digital pantheons earning the top spots on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.
On YouTube, ABS-CBN Entertainment has a total of 38.4 billion total views and 29.5 million subscribers. On the other hand, ABS-CBN News has 6.4 billion total views. It also boasts 10.2 million subscribers on its YouTube Channel.
Also, according to SocialBakers, ABS-CBN News has a total of over 7.08 million followers, overtaking its competition.
Additionally, on Facebook, ABS-CBN has 21.1 million likes and 25.4 million follows, while ABS-CBN News has 18.7 million likes and 20.8 follows.
ABS-CBN proves that it will come out on top, whichever medium it uses. It will be wise to keep watch on these numbers with the future of media as its shift to digital viewing.
