Megastar Sharon Cuneta dedicated a YouTube video for her bashers whom she has been dealing with over the course of the quarantine period.
On her YouTube channel, Sharon launched her new show called ‘The Sharon Show’ that aims to talk about lifestyle and personal things about her. In her latest content titled ‘Dear Bashers’, she featured her bashers as she tried to address all the issues for which people have been criticizing her.
The video was captioned as “Dear Bashers and to all my Loyal Sharonians…this is for you. So much has happened and I’d like to talk about a few things. I can forgive and I can forget because things have happened and people have changed. And I have changed too.”
Sharon mentioned that she was able to normalize the bashing towards her as she knows that it comes after being a public figure.
“Marami na po tayong napagdaanan, lalo na po ako dahil public figure po ako. So alam niyo naman po ‘yung pinagdaanani kong bashing na tinatawang nating ‘buhzzing,'” she said.
“Hindi po maiiwasan iyan. I guess kakambal na po talaga ng pagiging public personality ‘yan lalo na po kung ang inyong kabiyak ay [nasa] politiko at ikaw naman ay isang showbiz figure, nagsama kame, lalong gumulo,” she added.
She talked about the issue of her Instagram post of her wearing a Rolex watch. Netizens bashed Sharon for they claim that the watch was not hers and that she just grabbed the wrist of someone wearing the watch.
“You mean people thought I just grabbed the pic of the wrist wearing the watch? Hahahaha! Que babaw,” she said in an Instagram post.
Sharon was dismayed by the rumor at that time and posted a lengthy message on her Instagram account. In her YouTube vlog, she said that she regretted how she reacted towards the issue. She said that she was just too emotional about it.
“Dapat hindi ka nagpopost ‘pag masama ang loob mo,” said Sharon.
The 54-year-old singer also talked about her issue with entertainment writer Ronald Carballo wherein the writer wrote ‘vicious and totally untrue posts’ about her. Sharon said that she has already forgiven Carballo.
“Of course that’s all water under the bridge now. I can forgive and I can forget all about it but as for restarting the friendship, I can’t really say because things have happened and people have changed and I have changed and I am more careful now,” Sharon explained.
“Life is really short and I don’t have that much time, so I kind of, I have chosen my friends carefully and I like the friends that I have now, and I treasure them,” she added.
Sharon also said that the rumors about her being boastful of her riches are not true. She said that in all the years that she’s been in the showbiz industry, why should she start being boastful now?
“If I offended anyone, I hope that, kung gusto ko talagang– kung ang aking intensyon to begin with was to brag and magyabang, to make it short, bakit ngayon ko uumpisahan?” she said.
She shared a message to her bashers saying that they should just relax because she’s already immune to their harsh words. She offered them a truce and calling them her friends. She even encouraged her bashers to subscribe to her YouTube channel.
“Bashers, ‘hi’ and ‘bye.’ Baka naman gusto niyo mag-subscribe, subscribe na lang kayo. Chill na lang tayo kasi na-immune na ako sa inyo. Tsaka easy lang kasi may pandemiya na nga baka tumaas pa ang presyon ninyo kasi ako hindi na ako na-affect. Friends na tayo,” she said.
She wanted to spread good vibes to all her viewers and supporters through her new YouTube show. She said that people will be happier if they treat each other with kindness.
“Everything is gonna be just positive and happy and uplifting. Because I would like you all to leave happy and smiling and inspired, and be kinder to one another,” she said.
Sharon Cuneta is known for always firing back at her bashers. It can be remembered that she addressed her bashers who have been saying that she is already “laos” and has no importance to the entertainment industry anymore. She addressed them through a length post on Instagram.

She recently appealed for kindness from people who keep on criticizing others as she said that they are only brave online because they hide behind anonymous accounts to bash and earn money.
“Parang kasi some people hide anonymity kaya matapang sila so they feel free to express kahit walang saysay. They bash people — kahit hindi celebrities … kung sino ang pinagtripan. Some people are fame-hungry that they go after famous people just to get a reaction at magkaroon ng views YouTube para may kitain,” she said.
Sharon Cuneta has been very active on Twitter especially when it comes to those attacking her loved ones. She stood up for her daughter Frankie Pangilinan who was threatened with rape by a DDS supporter when she spoke up against rape culture in the country. She is currently married to Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan and together, they have two daughters and one adopted son. She was once married to Gabby Concepcion with whom she has a daughter, actress KC Concepcion, whom Kiko had legally adopted.
