Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. confirmed on August 9 that he tested positive for COVID-19 and 9 days after, his wife, Mayor Leni Mercado-Revilla announced that the senator was rushed to the hospital after developing pneumonia.
At the same time, Lani asked people to pray for the healing and wellness of her husband’s condition as he battled the deadly coronavirus.
However, instead of well wishes, Bong was overwhelmed by negative comments from netizens who wished him ill and pointed out that the millions he stole should be enough to comfort him.

PEP reported that Revilla is downhearted as he received these negative comments. He said that no matter how angry he is with a certain person, he could never dare to wish that person to die.
“Bakit may mga ganung tao na natutuwa pa sila na mangyari yun sa kapwa nila? Ganito na talaga sila ka-vicious? Nakakalungkot,” he said.
Nonetheless, Revilla announced on Monday afternoon that he was cleared by the doctors and can already continue his recovery at home.
“Great news po! The doctors have cleared me for discharge. I am so excited to go home,” he wrote on Facebook.
