Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. said that he has already forgiven the people who wished him dead and those who hoped that he never recovers from the coronavirus that he contracted.
On August 18, Revilla was rushed to the hospital when he developed pneumonia after testing positive from COVID-19 many weeks ago. He was recently cleared for discharge and was allowed to go home to his family.
In his Facebook live post, the senator said that he was thankful that he is already recovering from the virus. He thanked his family and his supporters who continued to pray for his fast recovery.
But, he also mentioned that some were sending him ill wishes and had hoped that he would die from the virus. Revilla mentioned that he was saddened that such wishes for him exist but he said that he already forgave those people.
Nakakalungkot. Pero ganunpaman, sa akin, pinapatawad ko sila ‘di nila alam ang ginagawa nila,” he said.
He added that despite the people’s ill wishes towards him, he still loves them and understands those people because he believes that there are still some who wished him well.
Revilla did not let the people’s negative comments regarding his recovery get to him as he let his compassion and forgiveness prevail in his heart. He said that he was just thankful that he had a fast recovery and can continue to serve the people of the country.
He also mentioned that he is a positive thinker but at this point in our life, being ‘positive’ is a problematic thing as it indicates that a person might become ‘positive’ from the virus.
Naiba na,” he explained.

“Alam niyo ‘yung mundo natin, talagang nabaliktad na,” he added.
He recalled that his battle with the virus was not easy because he and his family were still mourning the death of his father, former Sen. Ramon Revilla Sr., who died at the age of 93 because of heart failure.
He left a message for all Filipino people saying that if they truly cared for their loved ones, they will isolate themselves at the first symptoms of the COVID-19 to be sure that the family members will be safe from the virus.
It should start from us.
The senator also addressed the people who continue to speak ill of others. He said that those people should just focus their energy on helping others so that they will be able to do something meaningful instead of hurting other people.
Revilla still insists to be swab tested for COVID-19 even though he is no longer required to by the new Department of Health guidelines. He said that he still wants to be tested to make sure that he is safe from the virus for the sake of his family.
Sen. Bong Revilla is already the fourth senator who tested positive from the coronavirus. The other senators who were also able to recover from the virus are Sen. Koko Pimentel, Miguel Zubiri, and Sonny Angara.
