Kapuso star Ruru Madrid responded to a basher who said that he will do anything just to earn money.
The basher’s comment came after the actor posted on his Instagram account a video of himself dancing to Oishi Prawn Cracker song and endorsing the product.
Madrid used the hashtags #SpicyOishiPrawnCrackers and #OishiOWow in his Instagram post.
“There’s really something about Spicy Oishi Prawn Crackers na talaga mapapa-HOTtaw ka. I can’t help it! Definitely the paypay and punas pawis are my go to moves,” he wrote.
He also encouraged the public to share their own Oishi dance as well using the hashtag #HOTtawChallenge for the chance of having a dance-off with the actor.
“Ikaw ano ang go to moves mo? Show me your #HOTtawChallenge and don’t forget to tag me. Malay mo next time sabay na tayo! 😉,” he added.

The 22-year-old actor was praised by some netizens saying that his dance video was cute. People appreciated the actor for his efforts and dedication to his chosen line of work.
However, some people also criticized Madrid for his post saying that he doesn’t have any talent with dancing.
One netizen caught the attention of Madrid who said that he is doing such desperate measures because he is suffering financially.
“Hirap talaga pag gipit lahat nalang gagawin,” the netizen wrote.
Madrid did not let the negative comment get to him. Instead of lashing out the basher, he maintained his composure and explained that he does not regret anything because he is doing something that he’s passionate about. He said that what matters to him is that he is able to entertain his fans and be able to help other people as well.
“Mahirap talaga tol. Pero masaya naman ako sa ginagawa ko, mahal ko naman ang trabaho ko kaya kahit na mahirap o nakakapagod okay lang kasi nawawala lahat ng hirap at pagod ko pagka alam ko na may mga tao ang napapasaya at natutulungan,” he said.
Ruru believes that people should not stop doing what they love just because others are discouraging them. He said that people just need to continue to push through despite all the negativity so that they will be able to focus on themselves and their goals.

“Don’t let anyone bring you down. Believe in yourself and ignore the negativity,” he said.

K-pop star Taehyung himself noticed the controversial selfie of Madrid when it was uploaded by a netizen on Weverse which is a Korean mobile app and web platform. He commented with Korean characters which translate to “lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol I think I should give up exercising. LOL.”
Madrid was overwhelmed that he was noticed by his idol that’s why he posted the encounter on his Instagram story.
He also recently defended his rumored girlfriend Bianca Umali when the actress was body-shamed on social media.
Many people bashed Umali’s looks when she uploaded a photo of herself on Instagram. They said that the actress looks old and already ‘dried up.’
Madrid engaged the bashers and pointed out that people should not bring down their fellow citizens. He was both hurt and disappointed by how some people threw nasty words at Umali.
“I don’t know what’s wrong with people right now? Parang ang dami laging opinyon ng mga tao. Sana wala ng ganun, sana sinusuportahan nalang natin ang isa’t isa,” he said.
Ruru Madrid and Bianca Umali have been rumored to be dating since 2018. They were reportedly being low-key with their relationship and have not confirmed anything yet to the public.
Madrid came to prominence after being a part of GMA’s reality TV series Protégé: The Battle For The Big Artista Break. He became a part of the TV drama romance series My Destiny (2014), Dangwa (2015), The Half Sisters (2015-2016), Encantadia (2016-2017), Inday Will Always Love You (2018), and TODA One I Love (2018). He recently became a part of GMA’s TV series The Gift (2019-2020).
In 2018, he won the award of Best Single Performance by An Actor in the 32nd PMPC Star Awards for Television for his performance in Magpakailanman: Takbo Ng Buhay Ko.
