Rappler reporter Rambo Talabong blasts DDS propagandist Mark Lopez

Rappler reporter Rambo Talabong didn’t hold back in slamming DDS propagandist Mark Lopez over the latter’s insensitive post about the viral post of a daughter who lost her mom to COVID-19.

In his tweet, Talabong described Lopez as someone who’s “at the bottom of the barrel” because of his crass attitude.

“Mark Lopez is at the bottom of the barrel, after all. After ignoring his incredibly offensive post for frontliners and their kin, he wants to hold a Zoom with us. For what? For the only thing he’s good at—stupid spectacles. Talk to the grieving family, Mark Lopez, not us.”

Talabong’s tweet was in response to Lopez’s social media tirade about him and his colleagues in Rappler.

In several tweets and Facebook posts, Lopez blasted Talabong for calling him DDS troll.

Their social media exchange originated from Lopez’s Facebook post alluding to Joie Cruz’s post about the death of her mother as politically motivated.

Joie Cruz went viral on social media after she posted about the plight of health workers in the country especially in this time of the pandemic.

Cruz’s mother, a nurse at the Cainta Hospital, died of COVID-19. In her post, Cruz detailed the sorry plight of the COVID-19 frontliners who received meager salary and hazard pay from the government.

While the intention of Cruz was to shed light on the issue of the health workers so that proper authorities can address it, Lopez being a staunch defender and supporter of the admin felt her post was politically motivated.

Lopez accused Cruz of maligning the government to draw more anger against the Duterte admin. He also brought up Cruz’s former affiliation with Rappler to add more color to her non-malicious post.

Talabong, meanwhile, caught Lopez’s post and blasted the DDS propagandist for adding politics to the issue.

In his tweet, Talabong called out Lopez for going so low as to attack and shame a grieving daughter who just recently lost a mother to COVID-19.

“This is Mark Lopez. He is a pro-Duterte troll who attacks and shames the grieving daughter of a frontliner who died without receiving her hazard pay. All to suit his politics. Truly, the lowest of the low.”
