Juliana, or TJ Ortega in real life, won the first Miss Q & A, an It’s Showtime segment dedicated to highlighting transgender comedians across the country in 2018. The segment showcases the wit of gay men and transgender women in answering different types of questions.
She worked as a call center agent for 9 years before she joined the contest and won as the grand winner.
But Juliana admitted that her Php1 million prize from the contest is all gone though she noted that she used the prize wisely.
In an interview in Magandang Buhay, she told the host Karla Estrada, that she already used up all of the cash prize.
“Ubos na siya! Tulad nga nang sinabi mo akin dati Momshie Karla, ang P1 million mabilis lang ‘yan maubos, lalo na kung galing ka sa walang wala,” she mentioned.
Juliana added that there were no regrets in using it all up because she was able to provide for her family.
“So ang nangyari sa akin sa P1 million ko, hindi ako nagsisi na naubos siya kasi naubos siya pero iba ‘yung magiging kuwento ko someday na ‘ito o tatlo na TV namin, ‘yung P1 million ko may malamig na kaming tubig sa ref,” she explained.
She shared that her life completely changed after joining the contest and even before she won as the grand champion. She already had a project “Funny Ka Pare Ko” which is a Philippine comedy television series aired on Cine Mo!, an exclusive channel of ABS-CBN TV Plus.
The competition also gave her the chance to rediscover herself and learn new talents that will help in her showbiz career.
“Akala ko hanggang ‘Miss Q & A’ lang ako so hindi ko alam na kaya ko palang umarte, kaya ko palang mag-hurado, kaya ko mag-hosting. So every now and then na may nadi-discover ako sa sarili ko, mas lalo ko napagaaralan na kailangan pala na every now and then, nirere-discover mo ang sarili mo.”
Juliana Parizcova Segovia may or may not be a transgender woman, but she lived as a woman for a long time.
