Kapamilya star Kathryn Bernardo posted a YouTube vlog that featured her best friend, Arisse de Santos.
The two revealed different photos of them together and shared the stories behind those photos.
Kathryn revealed that she did something back when she was hanging out with her best friend that made her boyfriend Daniel Padilla mad with her.
Kathryn said that she has been wanting to do a vlog with Arisse but it has been difficult because their schedules mostly don’t match. The actress said that it was hard for both of them because Arisse is currently based in Melbourne.
“I thought of making a video with her because she’s really the person who knows everything about me and we want to share our journey and how our friendship started,” Kathryn said.
“So ang hirap ngayon because she’s now based in Melbourne, busy din siya sa work niya tapos ang aga niya natutulog. So di nagma-match iyong schedule namin. I want to dedicate this episode for her kase gusto kong malaman niyo kung paano nag-start iyong friendship namin,” she added.
Most of the photos they shared show the adventures that they had in their 6-year friendship with some of the photos dating back to 2014. They shared photos of their trips together to El Nido, Osaka, Bangkok, and Hong Kong with some of the photos including their other close friend, Trina Guytingco.
Kathryn and Arisse have revealed their love for drinking and even said that through drinking, their friendship became even more meaningful as they have done so many fun and candid things together.
Kathryn has recalled one incident that occurred during their trip to El Nido which made Daniel Padilla mad.
At some point in the night, Kathryn and her best friend ordered wine but they didn’t realize that the wine was so strong and they ended up really drunk.
“Nagsimula ‘yan sa wine… And then nung gabi lang, sabi namin, ‘Tara, wine tayo,’ tapos nag-order, nag-order, parang nag-three bottles ata kami no’n,” Kathryn shared.
“Tapos sobrang lakas, sobrang lakas ng wine, tapos kami lang umiinom noon ni Arisse so kaya ganyan, bumagsak. Tapos wala si DJ (Daniel) niyan, bumalik siya do’n sa room,” she added.
The actress mentioned that they were already wearing their pajamas at that time. But the two decided to jump into the swimming pool which made Daniel angry.
“Ewan ko kung bakit kami tumalon. Yeah, tumalon kaming naka-pajama tapos si DJ kita ko, tumatakbo, ganyan, galit na galit, tapos kinuha ako, ganyan, ‘Ano ba naman!’ ganyan-ganyan, tapos wala, ayun na,” Kathryn shared.
The 24-year-old actress recalled that the fun moment with her best friend became memorable because it was one of the times that Daniel scolded her.
She explained that Daniel is okay with her drinking but not to the point wherein she would get so drunk and do things that could potentially harm her.
“Kasi si DJ, ayaw niya kapag nalalasing kami ni Arisse. Okay lang sa kanya uminom kami ni Arisse pero ‘pag kasi kami ni Arisse magkasama, parang parating lasing, parating hindi ‘yung normal, parati kaming sumosobra,” she said.
Kathryn also said that she doesn’t get to spend time with her friends most of the time that’s why when she’s able to, she makes sure that she makes the most of it. She bonds with her friends and drinks with them but she explained that when they do, they make sure that they are in a safe and protected place to drink like their homes.
“In order for a friendship to work, kailangan siya ng effort na lahat, compromise. Parati sila nag-a-adjust sa akin, so mini-make sure ko na kapag ‘yung mga minsan na times na off ko, or wala akong work, dapat ma-feel nila na nandoon ka talaga, hindi ka masyadong mag-phone, and then kumustahin ang isa’t isa,” she said.
“For me, kailangan ng effort sa both ends. Hindi siya mag-wo-work ‘pag ‘yung isa tinatamad or anything. Nag-work kaming tatlo kasi ginusto namin,” she added.
She also said that she is thankful for her friends who gave her an opportunity to experience being a normal person and taught her how to have fun. She said that she values her friends more than her money or fame.
“At the end of the day, walang magagawa ‘yung pera mo or fame mo. Masaya akong natutulog kasi alam ko wala akong nasasaktan na ibang tao. Also, I have real friends na nandiyan,” she said.
“Feeling ko iyon ang totoong meaning ng life: making memories with the people you love. Ngayon talaga, I’m really blessed, kasi mayroong mga tao na bumuo ng pagkatao ko, and isa si Arisse doon.”
Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, dubbed as ‘KathNiel’, have been a couple for about 8 years now. They recently celebrated their 8th anniversary amid the COVID-19 pandemic by having a simple dinner with the food that their friends and solid KathNiel fans brought them.
Kathryn’s mother, Min Bernardo, shared a glimpse of what the couple did for their special event through her Instagram post.

“They decided to make the day simple lang pero thanks to all fans and friends na nagpadala ng food (but thanks to all the fans and friends who sent food),” Bernardo’s mother said.
It was two years ago when KathNiel admitted that they had been in a relationship for more than five years already. It was then revealed that they have been together for seven years when Kathryn penned a heartwarming letter to Daniel.
For their anniversary last year, Kathryn wrote a heartfelt letter for Daniel stating that staying in love is a decision she and Padilla make every day.
