For the past few months, Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado has been outspoken on social media in particular about the ABS-CBN franchise and her criticism of the PH government’s incompetence, which puts her under the spotlight of netizens who do not agree with it.
Some netizens bashed Jennylyn for expressing her opinion, but the actress finally spoke yesterday about why she was questioning and very opinionated in the last few days.
On the Twitter account of the actress, where she expressed most of her opinions she tweeted a photo saying, ‘He who is afraid to ask is ashamed of learning’.
She then questioned why people are being bashed if they’re asking questions because, for her, the people who ask are the people who are interested in growth.
“Bakit ngayon ay naging masamang katangian ang magusisa at magtanong? Hindi ba eto senyales na gustong matuto ng isang tao? If you shame people for asking, how can we learn and grow?”

She then followed her tweet reminded that belittling people for questioning and knowing what is true is not right.
“At kasalanan mo pa pala dahil hindi mo alam. Hindi ba ang masama ay ang ibelittle ang mga tao na gusto lamang makakuha ng impormasyon at matuto?”

Recently, the Kapuso actress can’t believe that corruption is still prevalent in some government departments, such as PhilHealth, particularly at this time of the pandemic.
On her Twitter account, she showed how she was disgusted with government officials who continue to abuse ordinary citizens.
It really is disgusting na kahit may pandemya corruption still exists… https://t.co/SNxEIXbrvH

Kelan kaya matitigil ang pananamantala ng mga tao na may kapangyarihan sa ordinaryong Pilipino?

She even called out DOH Secretary Francisco Duque for wearing his face mask the wrong way. She even told Duque that he must do his job well.
What did we expect? Magsuot nga ng mask ng maayos hindi niya magawa.. 🙃 https://t.co/a0puCkujZI pic.twitter.com/gXjUDMsNRI

When a netizen advised her to be neutral over the issue so she won’t be bashed, she boldly said that, “If being ‘bashed’ is a small price to pay for practicing my right to freedom of speech. Then I am fine with it.”
But I am a Filipino and that alone is enough.
To be neutral or silent in times of injustice is injustice.
